Three minutes. It takes three minutes to take a home pregnancy test. The wait is three minutes, but it feels like an eternity. Especially with Karma and Liam arguing right next to you.

"Why did you kiss her?!?"

"Why is it any of your business?!?"

I check my phone and cringe. It's only been a minute and a half.

"For someone who's so set on being straight 4 lyfe, I'm just a little shocked. Why wait till now to make a serious move on Amy?

"I didn't—

"Admit it Karma, you only kissed Amy because you're jealous and you don't want to be shut out!"

"Is that true?" I ask turning to Karma.

"No!" She yells but her face tells a different answer.

"Karma? You can go ahead and take off now. I think this is a moment Liam and I should experience by ourselves."

"Amy?"

"Karma." I say with a stern look.

She pouts and in a huff walks out.

I couldn't deal with both of them, I'm already freaking out as it is. One of them had to go and since this is more Liam's problem then Karma's...

My timer on my phone started to go off. I sighed and glanced over at Liam.

We laid down side by side on my bed staring up at the ceiling.

"This is definitely a sign that we should cool it. we wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for all the sex."

"And the alcohol." Liam added.

We laughed as he looked over at me and took my hand.

"You okay?"

"No... but I will be."

My phone beeped. When I picked it up, I saw that it was a text from Karma.

"So are you pregnant? Please tell me, I need to know!"

I rolled my eyes and tossed my phone to the side. Not tonight you don't.

"Amy?"

"Yeah?"

"Wanna go to prom?"

I smiled, "Sure."

I leaned over to lay on him and we fell asleep.

The next day I try to avoid Karma like a fucking plague with no avail. She cornered me by my locker.

"Amy? I am your best friend! I deserve to know."

"You know what? You really don't. I don't have to tell you. A girl who's still playing with her best friend's emotions and feelings, does not deserve to know."

"What? What are you talking—

"Karma! You kissed me to pull me away from Liam because you're jealous!"

"I did not!"

"Okay, so why did you then?"

"Because... it doesn't matter."

"I'm so sick of all the Karmic games!"

"Fine, let me make it up to you. Let's go to prom together. It'll be fun!"

"Can't." I snapped as I grabbed my books.

"Why are you making such a big deal about this?!? It was just a kiss. We use to kiss all the time!"

"Oh you mean when we were faking it?"

I slammed my locker and it made her jump.

"Oh by the way, I can't go to prom with you, because I'm going with my baby daddy."

I pushed past her and headed off to class.

I ate lunch with Shane and Liam. Karma was nowhere to be found.

"So you two are going... together?"

"Just as friends of course."

Shane scoffs, "Yeah, friends who—

"So Shane, who are you going with?" I asked changing the subject fast.

"Well, I have my eye on someone. His name is Wade, he's in one of my classes."

"Hey, do me a favor? Help Karma get a date."

He frowns, "And why would I do that?"

"For me?" I asked while I pouted.

He glares at me, "Fine. I'll see what I can do."

I squeal, "Thank you."

If she has a date, she'll be preoccupied for the night.

"So Amy, is there a bun in that oven or not?"

Liam and I looked at each other and got up.

After school Liam dropped me back home. When I got up to my room Karma was there waiting for me. Geez, is my room the new social hangout now?

I sighed loudly when I saw her, "Go away Karma. I want to take a hot shower and wash away the past 24 hours."

"Hear me out, please?"

I closed my door behind me and sat down.

"I'm not sorry about the kiss Amy. Yes, I should've handled the situation better, but I'm not sorry about it. I didn't kiss you because I'm jealous. I'm a bit jealous, yes, but that's not why. I kissed you Amy because I have feelings for you. Romantic feelings I've felt for a while now, but tried to suppress. They scare me Amy, and I don't know how to feel or what I feel. I don't want them to be there, but they're there."

I looked at her shocked and amazed, "What?"

"Here." She says handing me a clothing box.

I take it from her and open it. "A pants suit?"

She nods, "We all know you're not the dressing wearing kind of girl."

"It's great, thanks Karma."

"Well, see you at Prom." She says as she starts to walk out.

"Karma?" I say stopping her at the door.

She turns to me.

"I'm—I'm not pregnant. What I said earlier, I said it out of anger. The test was negative so... yeah not pregnant."

She squeals, "No Baby Booker?!?"

I laugh, "No Baby Booker."

She jumps in a giddy way and runs over to me with a hug. I squeeze her tight and we stay like that for a while... together.
