Chapter 18: Unbelievable

"You have no idea how mad she got! Her face was so red-" Marie laughed as she told the story of the girl at our local favorite coffee shop who discovered I was Harry Styles' ex-girlfriend. "She picked up her tea and just held it over her head and let it pour slowly."

"To be completely exact, it was ice tea not searing got tea." I interjected as everyone around me listened intently to her stories about me. I didn't mind. It was interesting for me to see the boys' reactions.

"The girl stood there with her mouth open like she had no idea what just happened. Served her right. I was surprised you didn't punch her in the face."

"Hey, I almost did. She was lucky I was having a good day." I took another sip of my beer.

"What did she do to you, ya little evil bitch?" Louis asked with an amused face.

I rolled my eyes. "She said that it was bound to happen for me and Harry to break up and that she was surprised that he didn't break up with me sooner since I was an obviously below him and everyone else in the world."

"What a horrible person!" Niall stated leaning back. He had been inching closer and closer to Marie the entire night.

"Yeah well she can go straight to hell. Anyone else want another beer?" I asked standing up.

Everyone muttered their no thanks and continued with their conversations.

We had been lounging around for 5 hours now. Just talking about life and what we have had been through for the passed year. I couldn't help but go back in my mind and think about Jake. My guilt was weighing down on me. I haven't spoken to him in days and I felt terrible. The boys got an extend and are staying here for longer and I needed to fix this between Jake. I didn't want to end our relationship because Harry was here. He'd be leaving soon, again, and it wouldn't be worth it.

I know things have been crazy and I don't blame you for pulling away. I'm so sorry about everything.... I really miss you. It's been quiet with out you... That's all I wanted to say...

Not a second later I got a text.

FROM: Jake<3

Meet me pease? Caplin Bridge.

It took me a moment to register what to do. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to meet him but I knew I should. I sucked up my nerves and decided to just take a chance.

TO: Jake<3

On my way..

Now I just needed to get out of here with out making a big deal about it. "Hey Marie, I'm gonna go out real quick?"

Her head shot at me as well as everyone else's. "Where?"

Think fast. "Bill needs to to pick up a bunch of paper work for him to be filled out and he hurt his back again."

"It's 1 in the morning?" Harry stated.

"Yeah, well, you don't know Bill. I won't be long." I grabbed my keys and headed out. I decided not to drive since I had 2 beers. Better to be safe than sorry. Caplin Bridge was only 20 minutes away. If be fine. I started walking and tried as hard as I could to think about what Jake and I would talk about. I hoped that this little get together wouldn't be awkward..or dramatic. That's the last thing I want and need at the moment. I took a short cut leading into an alley way. Oh yeah, dark ally way, girl alone, how cliché? I passed through safely and was only a few minutes away from the bridge. I started to get nervous. I never get nervous. Calm down Jess, no big deal. You can do this.
