It was around 8:00pm and I was making dinner for the boys. Marie was upstairs trying to find something cute to put on for Niall. Their relationship was escalating quickly. I was worried, but part of me didn't care because my friends were happy. Above all, I was happy. Everything was okay. It was strange. It had been over a year since everything was okay and it was starting to frazzle me. My bestfriends were dating. My other bestfriends were happily with girls they loved and I was here. I was here with Harry and it didn't matter whether or not we were anything besides just Jess and Harry. Something was eating away at me though. It was almost as if I knew that something bad would happen. My negative mind was seeping through as I made a very large tossed salad.
Time was moving slowly these days. Harry had that effect on me. Everything was moving at a slow pace. It was nice to drag out a day just this once. Usually I would wake up and it would feel as if I had only been up for a couple of hours before I had to go to bed again. Waking up and going to sleep are almost years apart for me these days.
"Marie! Hurry up I need help!" I yelled as I placed my famous fudge brownies into the oven. I hadn't made these brownies for the boys. I just recently got into baking. It keeps me sane. At least that's what Marie says. "Marie!" I yelled and stomped over to the stairway that led upstairs.
I found Marie standing at the bottom with an expecting look on her face. She was wearing a peach and yellow sun dress with her hair up and wavy. Her makeup was done lightly with nude and cream colors. Her eyes were lacking her regular dark eyelinered look. She didn't look like Marie at all. She looked like someone else. I wondered what inspired this change or who inspired it.
"Wow.." I mustered up. I didn't know what else to say. I had never seen this side of her. I've heard stories from her family but never saw it for myself.
"Yeah.. I just.." She took a deep breath. "I just felt different today."
"I can see that." I said while smiling with widened eyes.
"Is it.. Do you think he'll like it?" She asked nervously.
"You did this for Niall?"
"No. Not for Niall. It's for me." She explained.
"Then I know he'll love it."
She smiled happily. Her nostrils flared for a moment. "Are you making your fudge brownies?!"
"Yes I am."
"Well go get ready!" She said pushing me up the stairs. "I'll keep an eye on the brownies."
I laughed and followed her instructions and trolled up the stairs and into my room. I had no idea what to wear. I had no idea why I was so nervous to see Harry all of a sudden and I had no idea what would happen tonight and how it would almost ruin everything.
