A piercing silence filled the air, I glance over to the others, feeling time freeze.
I bow my head in shame.
" I don't know" I whisper feeling my eyes weld in tears.

Chase POV
Leaving the island felt amazing to me. I don't know why but I felt free, the faster I went the more free I felt.

It was like I was leaving my worries behind, yet the entire reason I was doing this was to complete the mission I started.

The daven cycle continued to speed of, as the cold frosty wind reached my exposed skin.
I was currently speeding towards the mission site to investigate anything that may help me in finding the exoskeleton.

Speeding down the road, bypassing all the neighbouring cars was difficult. Especially when steering the fastest motorcycle in the world.

The flashbacks and voices were still echo big through my head, and somehow they were getting louder and stronger.
I shrug of all the negative energy barricading my thoughts. I needed to learn how to control feelings, especially with so much at stake.

Going on this mission by myself was definitely a massive risk, but what was I supposed to do? I failed and I knew I had to succeed.

As I continue to speed down the streets, my attention is drawn to the few pieces of broken metal pieces scattered across the street. I narrowly avoid each one of them, gaining closer distance to the building. The view of the building was still very blurred as the black helmet disadvantaged my sight.

My suspicion only grew as more metal pieces traced along the path.
" What the....."
I barely finish my sentence before hitting the brakes.

The sound of screeching tyres pierced through the air.
I continued to use all my body weight and strength to swerve myself out of the way of the building.
As the motorcycle stops dead in its tracks, my chest begins to ease in pressure, my heavy breathing slowly returns to its ordinary pace.

" What the hell just happened." I whisper
through shaky breaths.
I unclip my helmet, pulling it my face to reveal the destroyed building. A large beam straddled across two collapsed walls, leaving it hanging by several fractures of rock.

My eyes widen at the sight of it, destroyed, demolished, deceased, but it looked different from when I left.
Some one had been here, and no doubt was left in my mind that it was the exoskeleton.

All of Mr Davenport's hard work went to waste.
Any inventions or pieces of technology that happened to survive the tumbling building definitely wouldn't have survived now.
I push the thought of Mr Davenport out of my head. His face and voice only reminded me of the argument I had with him previously.

I stare blankly at the building, before my attention is diverted to a dark figure in the corner of my eye.
Leaving the daven cycle where it was, I slowly approach the dark figure ducking behind a large rock.

The dark figure didn't seem to be wearing a suit of any kind, but appeared to be wearing pure black clothes which camouflaged with the dark night sky.

I waited patiently alone in the corner. As time passed more men revealed themselves. My mind boggled in questions and confusion as nothing seemed to be adding up. Who were these men? Were they workers for Mr Davenport? What were they doing?
