Claim Your Defeat

Previously on Redemption
They were headed to the academy, and I had to stop them.
I raise myself to my feet searching through my thoughts for a plan that would help save my family.
Suddenly an idea pops into my head, the only problem was I knew I would not survive if the plan worked.

Leo POV
" Big D!" I scream as we finally arrive at the academy.
"LEO! What's wrong? Did you find Chase?" He questions rushing into the training area. Adam, Bree and Douglas trailed behind him.

" Big D we really need to talk!" I exclaim
He nods in agreement, his face revealing traces of concern and fear. My hands were trembling and my heart skipped several beats as I struggled to talk.

" Leo what's wrong?" He questions again resting his hands on my shoulder to calm me down.
" Chase, thugs, attack academy, lockdown" I barely choke out, struggling to find my breath.

He turned to Taylor gaining a proper response from her. His face slowly transformed to a expression of sheer terror.
" So you found Chase..... But... But he was tak...en" he stutters

" Yes and now there is some crazy thug threatening to destroy the academy. They are on there way now." I explain

" What about Chase?" Douglas questions
I bow my head feeling the tears in my eyes threatening to spill.
" So..some thugs took him... And said that he woul..would die. From the blast." I stutter

" BLAST! What blast?"
" A bionic fuse blast. He was shoved into the forest after defeating the exoskeleton.From there, he was taken by the moles of Davenport industries." I explain

Adam and Bree's expressions slowly dropped as they heard every word. I could tell Bree was about to crack, spotting the redness in her eyes and seeing her hands tremble.

" What do we do?" I ask
Mr Davenport didn't seem to be on board and I didn't blame him. With all that was going on, I even found it hard to compute what was happening myself.

" We have to find Chase!" Big D exclaims a voice filled with guilt, his eyes leaking with tears, and an expression of pure regret.

" But we need to put the academy on lockdown. Those men could arrive at any moment to take us out and the academy." Douglas explains

Big D shakes his head in disagreement.
" What about Chase? We can't just leave him to die" he protests

" But if we waste another second we could all die and then we will never be able to help Chase." Douglas reasons.

I could see how it pained him to say it. Inside his heart he wanted to save Chase but at the same time the academy was in danger. We all knew Douglas was right.

" Mr Davenport, Douglas is right. We have to rally all the students together and put the place on lockdown" Taylor agrees

He paced around the academy for a while, messing with his collar while racing his hands through his hair. I glance at Mr Davenport, his pacing slowly rested as he drew a deep sigh

"Douglas put the academy on lockdown. Adam, Bree and Leo rally all the students up in the training room area. Logan, Taylor keep them calm." Big D orders while walking towards the cyber desk.

We all nod in agreement before parting our different ways.
I tried to remain focused on rallying the students, only for the crashing thought of Chase to destroy my train of thought.
