"Yes Oldie." I tried hard to be calm as I had known nothing about my parents, save the fact that they were killed in a car crash.
As if reading my thoughts, Oldie said, "The One with The Gift, you need to know that your parents did not die in a car accident. They were killed. Killed at the hands of The Dark Power. The car accident was fake. It never happened."
I widened my eyes in shock. All these years I have been thinking that my parents were killed in a car accident and the culprit had been arrested. "Why... was I kept in the dark?" I asked Oldie.
"To protect you. Not only that, you wouldn't have understood. Rules prevent me from telling. Now, less talk, more memory-rewind. Let it begin."
And it started.
