"ahhh you must be luke." Said an older man as he extended his arm.
"nice to meet you sir." Luke relied with a firm shake.
"and who is this?" he asked referring to me.
"this is my sister trinity, she goes to St. Andrews."
"Oh nice to meet you Miss Potts, I'm Mr Myers, Sandra's father."
At the mention of my name two more eyes searched for mine, one of them had red hair and the other had piercing green eyes.
Oh great. Out of all the people in the world to be related to Sandra it had to be the red headed girl.
That was my first thought and the second was..
Why was Harry here? What's the relation there?
"Trinity? Please stay focused Mr Myers was talking to you." Luke persisted as my eyes snapped back into the conversation I was in.
"Oh sorry sir- uh Mr Myer- sir" I coughed, "Sorry what were you saying."
"It's perfectly fine my dear I was just wondering if you knew my other daughter Avril? Or maybe my nephew Harry?"
"I've heard of them bu-" I begin
"That's perfect you can meet them right now. Harry? Avril? Do you mind coming over here." He hollered in the hospital ward, causing him to receive many annoyed glances from the nurses.
"No its perfectly fine." I choked out, when I saw the both of them having a quite word to each other before putting on a smile and walking over to our conversation.
"It's okay, we'll be able to see Sandra as soon as she gets her bandages cleaned then we can leave." Luke whispered in my ear sensing my tension.
"You owe me." I replied just as sweetly.
"Harry, Avril you know Trinity Potts?" Mr Myer asked.
"Yeah were actually really good friends." Harry smirked opening up his arms for a hug to which luke cut in with:
"We haven't heard anything from Avril yet, do you now my sister."
"Oh yes I have heard lots about her." She too smirked.
"All good I believe." Laughed Mr Myers.
"Something like that." She replied quietly making eye contact with me.
Once Mr Myers laugh died down he and Luke got onto the topic of stocks and the dollar and after a few minutes my mind was too full of numbers to input anymore.
And it all clicked, both harry and Avril know too much and hold grudges against me, they share the information because they are both related.
"So how are finding my dad." Avril asked.
"He seems really nice." I replied politely
"Yeah he's a good man, barely drinks." And there it is, I was waiting for a snarky comment.
"That's why he looks so healthy." I replied nicely, even throwing in a smile before sauntering away to the water cooler, I looked over at Luke to try and gauge if he also wanted one but he was laughing in a group of Sandra's family, he looked happy.
When I turned around I jumped at the presence standing over me.
"Don't worry about her." Harry said.
"I wasn't until you said that." I laughed it off.
"So my uncle has seemed to take a liking to your brother."
"Yeah I'm glad." I smile, and I really mean it. I'm glad seeing Luke this happy.
"I'm just happy that Sandra's okay honestly." He sighed as he leaned back against the wall and just as I was about to there was a call for Luke from one of the nurses.
"Trinity" he called, "Come on its time for you to meet Sandra."
"Coming." I replied.
"Sor-" I was going to apologise to harry for leaving the conversation but he was already gone.
Waling inside Sandra's room it was just as cold as I expected it to be. I mean there were get-better-soon cards, balloons and flowers but at the end of the day it was still a hospital room and despite the flowers it still smelt like antiseptic.
"Hey babe." Luke said, placing a kiss on the top of her head.
"So this is the famous trinity." Smiled Sandra "I'm Sa-"
"Sandra" I cut in shaking her hand "I've also heard a lot about you."
"All good I hope." She laughed looking at Luke with adoring eyes.
"Is there any bad?" he replied.
So I sat there for an hour being the silent third wheel that was trying to think what I got myself into with this school, with the people and now Luke's girlfriends family.
"ready to go trin?" luke asked me cautiously
"yeah sure." I replied.
"well it was nice to meet you trinity potts." Sandra smiled.
"It was a pleasure meeting you Sandra Myers" I said in a mock voice but meaning every word.
"Please just call me Sandy." She laughed pulling me into a hug.
"Trinity be careful of her stiches!!" luke stressed, basically pulling me off her.
"Luke I'm fine you need to stop stressing." Said Sandy with a frown.
"don't get mad at me." He retaliated
"I can be mad at you if I want to be you treat me like a baby."
"It's just that-"
Feeling as though this was a private matter I stepped out of the room and sat on a chair in the waiting room with full knowledge that the fight could take hours with how stubborn Luke is so I shut my eyes and decided to take a nap.
"wake up sunshine." Said a recognisable voice.
"Luke?"
"No he left."
"What?!?" I shouted and sat upright, you have to be kidding me. Of course Luke would forget to take home the only thing he brought today.
"I was about to leave as well, lucky I had to come in here to get my coat." Harry said.
"thank you for waking me up." I smiled, yawning a little as I walked around him and made my way through the hospital and outside until my heart sank. I had no idea how to get back and I dint have a lift.
Just as I was about to call luke it was as though someone read my thoughts. "Need a lift?" smirked harry and I was out of options. I had to accept.
