Chapter 2: Moving

*Valerie's P.O.V*

It was Friday, and tomorrow I was finally leaving this hell I called home. I started thinking if when I moved, would my whole life and image change completely?
So many questions were rushing through my head, I was full of joy but as well as worries. My mother was out with her friends and probably at a night club getting drunk.

I finished packing and to be honest, I was quite exhausted. It was really late as well, and my stomach kept rumbling, I felt it contract so many times it hurt. I decided to at least eat some quick noodles, might as well not die from starvation just yet.

I watch the television for some time, I went through my social media and kept myself occupied till I felt tired and go to bed. Although I was already excited for my brother to come pick me up, I couldn't help but wanting to leave a little short note for mother.

Dear mother,

When you find this note that means that I'm now gone. I left with someone and I'm never coming back. I have moved somewhere else and I'm going to live be myself. I'm happy I'm gone because I'm not going to get beat up by you anymore. Goodbye mother.

When I finished writing the letter to my mom I felt so much better. I turned of the lights and went to sleep

I woke up to the noise of my phone buzzing, I looked at my phone and it was from my brother, Cody. I picked up the phone and answered it.

(V- Valerie C- Cody)

V- Hello?

C- Hey are you ready?

V- Yeah!

C- Okay well I'm outside, come unlock the door and get your suitcase. I'll help you.

V- Okay!

I ended the call, I looked at my phone to see it was 5am

"Wow really early" I said to myself. I rushed down stairs to unlock the door and when I opened the door right there was my brother. I hugged him, I was filled with happiness.

*Cody's P.O.V*
I saw Valerie there and she hugged me. She looked pretty excited, well of course she would be excited. She was moving out and she was going to go live in Canada miles away from North Carolina.

I helped her take all of her stuff and put them in the car.

We were finally finished with all of her stuff

"Come on let's go," I said, grabbing my keys from my pocket.

"Hold up let me go put this note in the dining table" She said. I guess she wrote a note to mom telling her she was leaving. I just walked back to my car and waited for her. Soon she came back and got in the car.

"Okay let's go!" She said in excitement. I just nodded and we drove off. The drive was around 8 to 9 hours because North Carolina was far away from the border.

We were just 1 hour away from the apartments. I quickly looked at Valerie who was asleep. I was pretty happy that I could see Valerie when ever I wanted since I lived 5 blocks away from her apartment. I was also pretty happy that she was never going to be mistreated again by mom. She was an alcoholic. I hope we never see her again.
