Silently in Love [Niall Horan]

Chapter Six

The rest of the week seemed to fly by. Niall would show up at my house a little bit more but this morning was different. He wanted me to meet his friends.

And I was nervous. Because some people don't like people who are deaf.

But Niall, what if they don't like me?

Niall nudged me, I promise that they'll like you. I mean, it's you.

I had taught Niall a few signs so we could talk without me reading his lips all the time and he seemed to really be picking it up.

I sighed inaudibly but nodded, signaling that I would go.

Niall grinned and grabbed my hand, pulling me off the couch and to the door.

"We're meeting them right now."

Niall was talking so fast I could barely understand what he was saying but when I did, I shook my head quickly.

No.

Niall frowned and raised an eyebrow.

But why not?

I shrugged and looked down, not answering his question.

But they'll love you. Come on!

I sighed again and let Niall bring me to wherever he was going. He put an arm around my shoulders when we reached a small building.

We all live here. Just in separate apartments.

I nodded, still weary about meeting them. I mean, I didn't even have time to get changed, he just brought me here.

We walked in and up a bunch of stairs before we stopped at a hallway. I could feel Niall take a breath before digging some keys out of his pocket and unlocking the door.

Niall gently pushed me forward and I stumbled a little bit before walking in.

I nervously looked down at my shoes as Niall walked behind me. He pulled me flush against my chest and I knew he had yelled something when his chest vibrated.

A bunch of boys ran into the room and I backed up more, a little bit scared of them.

A brown headed boy smiled at me and opened his mouth to speak.

Oh no.

I tried focusing on his mouth but he was speaking so fast that I couldn't understand a word he was saying.

I knew this was a bad idea.

Niall found my hand and squeezed it, letting me know that it was okay.

I looked up at him and shook my head, telling him that I didn't know what he said.

When I looked back at the boys, they all had confused looks on their faces.

I looked down as soon as I felt Niall's chest vibrate. I didn't look up for a few minutes and I felt Niall squeeze my hand, telling me to look up.

I was expecting to see them laughing at me for being deaf but when I looked up, they still had friendly smiles on their faces.

The boy who had tried to speak to me before grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. He held it out to me and I took it suspiciously.

He had written everybody's names on them from left to right and even added a goofy smiley face at the end.

I looked up and memorized their faces. The one who handed me the paper was Louis. The other brown headed boy was Liam. The black headed one was Zayn. And the curly headed one was Harry.

As soon as I finished looking at them, Niall nudged me forward. I hesitantly raised my hand so I could introduce myself but I wasn't expecting all of them to hug me. At once.

Liam looked above me to Niall and then he looked down at me.

 "You have a pretty name."

I was thankful that Liam had said it slowly, Niall must've told him what that I could read lips. I nodded and smiled at him, letting him know that I knew what he said.

Niall stood beside me as I pulled away from them. He said something to them and they nodded to him, smiling to me.

They all waved to me and I knew that Niall said that we were leaving. I waved back to them as we walked back to the door.

Niall led me out of the building and I stopped him, giving him a confused look.

Why did we leave?

Niall shrugged at me and I slapped him gently on the arm.

"I just wanted to spend time with you, is all. The boys are pretty busy right now and I didn't want to interrupt them."

I nodded slowly at him, a little suspicious about the whole thing.

Niall smiled and took my hand, leading me down the sidewalk.

And just like that, all my suspicions went away.
