Silently in Love [Niall Horan]

Chapter Fourteen

My mother had called the hospital and arranged for me to have my surgery in a week. I was very nervous, I hated going to the doctor and now that I had to have surgery, it made it worse.

Niall, however, was very excited. He tried hiding it but he wasn't a very good actor. After I told my mother I'd go through with it, we went back upstairs and I noticed that Niall had a smile on his face the whole time.

After he left, I made a pros and cons list. The pros being that I could hear again and actually be kind of normal and the cons being that the surgery could go wrong or that I could even die. Oh god, I didn't want to die.

When I woke up the following morning, I went downstairs, finding my mother on the phone. I decided to let her be and signed good morning to my dad. He got up from the table and hugged me, I'm so glad you decided to say yes. Your mother's been on the phone the whole morning talking to the relatives about the surgery. She's very excited.

I nodded and forced a smile, my nerves getting the best of me. My father noticed and signed, Don't worry, butterbean. Everything will be fine.

I smiled again, this time a little less forced. He patted my shoulder and gestured to get breakfast, which I did. My mother was still on the phone when I was done eating so I just gave her a kiss on the cheek and went upstairs. I decided to take a shower and after I came out, I grabbed my laptop.

I was halfway in Teen Wolf when my mother came in my room. Niall and his friends are here, they wanted to know if you would join them.

I bit my lip, thinking. I shrugged and nodded, getting off my bed. I grabbed a hair tie, putting my hair in a ponytail before grabbing my phone. I had changed after I took a shower and I wasn't about to change again.

I met Niall in the living room and he hugged me before leading me outside. I climbed in their car, waving to the boys. They smiled and waved back, some even signing how are you? I signed back and they sighed in relief, probably because they knew they got their signing right.

I wonder if Niall made them learn sign language..

Where are we going? I asked Niall.

We're going out to eat.

I bit my lip and nodded. Going out to eat meant ordering food and that meant that the server would talk to me. Shit.

Niall didn't seem to find a problem with it and began to talk to Zayn. I sat back and watched Niall as he laughed. That would be a pro of the surgery. Hearing Niall's laugh.

I looked at Liam in the driver's seat and saw that he was already watching me. He smiled and shook his head, turning his view back to the road. Oh, he must've saw me watching Niall.

When we pulled up to the restaurant, Niall took my hand and helped me out of the car. We went in and my nerves instantly heightened. I saw people turn and stare at us, mainly me. I hid behind Niall, grabbing the hem of his shirt. Why were they looking at me?

Niall looked over his shoulder, seeing me. He brought me beside him and led me to the table. I noticed two other girls sitting at the table and when I reached them they both stood up and hugged me. I felt a little awkward so I just patted them on the back.

We sat down and I saw Niall introduce them to me, The girl beside Liam is Sophia and the other one is Eleanor, they're Liam and Louis' girlfriends.

I nodded and tried to smile at them. They looked a little confused and I signed to Niall, Do they know I'm deaf?

Niall bit his lip and shook his head. That's why they were confused, they didn't know what Niall was doing. Oh god, did they ask for my name?

Luckily I carried around a pen so I just grabbed a napkin and wrote, hi I'm Florence. I'm deaf.

I saw them laugh and I frowned before Sophia took the pen and replied, I'm Sophia, that's Eleanor. It's fine if you're deaf, you're still a friend of ours.

I was so touched by their gesture. Girls normally didn't want me as a friend. I smiled, a real one, and sat back in my seat.

Niall.. you think you can order for me?

Niall smiled and nodded, grabbing my hand. I saw a waiter come to our table, and I slowly took a menu while the rest of them ordered. After the waiter left, Niall leaned over to look at my menu, even though he had his own.

I pointed to Niall what I wanted and he nodded before he kept looking. I looked up to find Liam and Sophia whispering. Sophia looked over at us and smiled before turning back to Liam. I bet they're talking about us.

They ordered their food and I leaned back as I watched them conserve. As I saw them laugh and joke around with each other, I began thinking about the surgery. If I went through with it, I'd be able to joke around too. Niall shook his head suddenly and leaned back in his seat.

I looked over at him, my eyebrows furrowed. He just shook his head and started a conversation.

So, what are your plans for the next week?

I shrugged, I guess I'll get ready for my surgery next week.

Are you nervous? He asked.

Yeah, but I guess I'm excited that I may be able to hear after it.

You will be, he promised. The food came at that moment and I dug in, not really paying much attention to everybody else.

After we ate and sat around a while, we paid and left the restaurant. Liam and Louis decided to leave with their girlfriends (who decided to give me a giant hug before they left. I was still a little awkward.).

The boys pulled up at my house and Niall walked me up. He grabbed a hold of my hands and kissed my cheek, Bye, Flo. I'll see you later.

I blushed, nodding as I opened the door. "Night, Niall," I mouthed before closing the door.

Did you have fun? My mother popped out of nowhere.

I nodded and signed that I was going upstairs. She nodded and I went to my room. My phone vibrated and I took my phone out seeing a message from Niall.

sophia and eleanor really like you. you should hang out with us more :p

i'm glad they do. maybe i will :-)

hiiiii wow a chapter for you guys because i love you. oooh next chapter will be the surgery. alright so i haven't gotten a chance to ask you guys about FOUR so.. what's your favorite song(s)?????
