hello everyone, how are you guys?? this is the last chapter (what????????????) and then there will be an epilogue okay? okay, enjoy!!

It was a few days after Niall and the boys had visited and thankfully, my hearing wasn't so sensitive and my throat wasn't so sore.

"Are you ready to go home, Miss Jensen?" One of the nurses asked. I nodded and smiled at her, "Yeah, I can't wait to get out into the real world."

She laughed, "I bet. Your parents will be here any minute so I suggest you start packing."

I got up off the bed and took her advice, putting my laptop in my bag along with some extra clothes. I was putting my shoes on when my parents came in.

"Florence, how are you feeling, honey?" I shrugged. "Fine, my headaches haven't been so constant."

My mother smiled, "I can't believe my baby can hear.."

I sighed but walked forward to hug her, "I don't think I've said this yet, but thank you for letting me have the operation."

"It's no problem, honey. I just wanted you to be happy." I smiled and patted her back. Dad stood behind and watched us embrace, a smile on his face.

I pulled back from the hug and walked over to my bag, slinging it over my shoulder. I followed my parents to the front and waited as they signed me out.

We walked out of the hospital and I smiled when I saw our car, but the frowned when I saw a figure standing beside it. What was he doing here?

Niall waved as I got closer and hesitantly waved back. When I got to the car, I opened the trunk and put my bag in it. I walked back around and met Niall where he was standing.

"Hey, how are you?" Niall's voice was hushed and I shook my head, "You can speak normally. It's not as sensitive anymore. And I'm fine, by the way. How are you?"

Niall grinned, "I'm great. I'm here to take you somewhere.. if that's alright with your parents."

My mother had a giddy smile on her face as she nodded, "Yeah, yeah. Just bring her back before her curfew."

"Which is eleven. I expect her back thirty minutes early," my dad cut in. "I better hear her come in the hotel room at exactly ten thirty."

I blushed while Niall nodded, "Yes sir, thank you for letting me take your daughter out tonight."

My dad nodded, "You're welcome, son."

My blush seemed to get darker as Niall took my hand and led me to his car. I made a noise of surprise as Niall opened the door for me. I waved to my parents before Niall closed the door.

"So.. where are we going?" I asked. Niall started the car and backed out, "Normally I would say that it's a surprise, but you hate them, so I'm taking you to dinner."

"Um, is this a.. date?" I felt dumb asking it, but it'd been on my mind since he'd told my parents he was taking me somewhere.

Niall glanced at me as he drove, "Do you want it to be?"

I shrugged, "I mean- I guess- I-"

"Yes," Niall interrupted, "It's a date."

"Oh." My face flushed. If I had known this was a date, maybe I'd wore a beanie or something to cover the bald spot. Or maybe some nicer clothes.

"I should've asked you first, come to think of it," he said, frowning. I shook my head, "It's okay, I actually like it this way."

His cheeks reddened and I smiled to myself, looking out the window.
