They had felt the Spark.

I was completely at a loss for what to say. In the human realm when someone became engaged, the female would run into a big group of friends and stick out her left hand, showing off the sparkling rock she had been given. The males would find a group of other males belonging to his female's group, and they would engage in shaking hands, or slapping one another on the backs. I found it to be an incredibly odd custom, as I had ventured out one day to a store that sold these rocks, and they were ridiculously priced. The average human can barely afford to survive, let alone provide for others, and here the males are basically giving half of their life savings for a shiny rock.

I will never understand humans, the entire realm is a never ending conundrum to me. I just do not understand the items in which they lavish upon themselves. For example, vehicles, I have ridden a horse for most of my life, and see no point in having a robotic beast take me from place to place. When I first arrived in the human realm it was 1911, and their world was much like mine, I found it peaceful, and serene. Then, the humans started manufacturing weapons, and vehicles, and their world was always involved in this war or that one. I look back on it all now, and wonder how I made it through, and then I remember that I always held my realm in my mind, and I visited home often. But, I digress.

Seeing the look come over Celeste's face was a mixture of, shock, confusion, and lastly complacency. In our realm we do not choose our mates, the keepers of the realms made those decisions for us, long before our births, but sometimes, it is a complete shock to our system to why the realms place two beings together. I knew that Celeste would have questions for Simon, and in these first few moments, no one spoke, so I felt that I needed to break the ice, so to speak.

"Cameron, my love, I never did get to ask you, how did you defeat the Diamtri?" Every eye in the room was now upon me, which is exactly what I wanted. I needed to change the subject, and lighten the solemn mood, and I figured Cameron's story would provide entertainment. I was also curious myself as to what had happened, and figured now was a good a time as any to ask. Cameron gave me an interesting look, but I sent my thoughts to her, telling her to just please speak to ease the tension.

" Well Nathanial, I was wondering when you were going to ask me about that. It was very fuzzy at first, but after talking about it with Cel, I think I have a pretty clear picture of what went on. Why don't we move to the table, and I will tell you while Celeste and I cook you gentlemen dinner." She had motioned for us to move into the kitchen area of the home, I was glad she was following with me, the silence would have driven me insane, if kept up much longer.

As we reached the table, Cameron and Celeste moved briskly in the kitchen preparing a meal. Cameron had become quite crafty in the kitchen, although, our food here differs from that of what she was used to consuming. The women were preparing a pheasant, and some vegetables, it smelled wonderful, and I could tell that Simon had not eaten well for sometime. I cast a glance at him, at one point, and his mouth was salivating. I was not sure if it was over his mate, or the food.

Cameron had started to chop more seasonings, when it was as if she suddenly remembered something. Her head shot up, and she gave a quick look to me, waiting for me to say something. I waited, with my hands interlaced on top of the table, and I smiled at my beautiful wife. She smiled back, and cleared her throat, she wiped her hands on a small towel, before walking closer to the table.

" So, you wanna know what happened? Well, there isn't really a whole lot to tell. I had taken my leave of you, when you told me you needed to find Arguson, and I just started walking. I found myself in a little clearing, just outside of our village. I started to try to relax, and decided I could do so better by resting up against a tree. I stayed still, until I heard a rustling, panicked, I stood up ready to fight. Much to my surprise, a bunny was my attacker, and when I tried to pet it, the thing ran away." Cameron was laughing, she raised a hand to her face to move a strand of her hair that had fallen into her face.
