Midnights: The Valley of Ogressia

Chapter 7

I awoke to the sound of rain hitting the window. It was only a light rain, and the sound of it had a calming effect on me. I opened my eyes, and for a split second for got where I was, but the sound of Nathanial's melodic voice brought me back to fairy tale that had now become my life.

" You look beautiful when you sleep. I have had the hardest time driving, because my eyes continue to drift over to you. I'm glad you are finally awake, did you enjoy any dreams?" His smile was enough to capture, my heart for eternity, but adding his words made me fall deeper than I had ever thought possible. I couldn't recall having a dreams to speak of, but then again I usually only remember bits and pieces anyway.

" No, I don't normally dream, or if I do I can never remember what happened in them." I looked at the clock on the dash board, it was 3:27am, and we had been driving for what seemed like forever. I turned my head to look at Nathanial, trying to read his thoughts, I needed to know where he was planning to take me. I had so many questions to ask him, but I didn't even know where to start.

" I am planning to take you as far from the museum as possible. I know we will have to stop soon, mainly because the gas tank is running very low. I am not even sure myself where we are, but my instincts tell me that I am headed the right way. I know you have questions for me, and I promise you, I will answer them all. Right now my only concern is you, and making sure you are all right."Nathanial shifted his weight in his chair and moved a hand to his head. He remove the rubber band that held his hair out of his face, and for the first time I saw his hair down around his face.He looked more relaxed now, and absolutely magnificent.

After about 10 minutes more of driving Nathanial decided it was time to stop to refuel the car. We found a simple gas station and I walked inside the store. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I walked in and smelled the hot dogs cooking. I settled for a cup of coffee, and a candy bar, and as I approached the counter I noticed the young women behind the counter was staring out the window at Nathanial.

" Excuse me," I said as I set my items down on the counter. The girl turned quickly and looked at me, red filling her cheeks.

" I am so sorry! I didn't see you standing there. Is he yours?" She must has realized what she said, or maybe it was look on my face that made her retract her question." What I meant was, is that man your husband?" She was really blushing now, I smiled, and let out a small chuckle.

" No sweetie, he is just," I paused, what was Nathanial to me? He brought me into his life, and had shared almost everything he could with me. He was currently running to who knows where to keep me safe, and to make sure that I was kept alive. He was the man I had fallen in love with, he was my soul mate, he was my everything. " He is my Nathanial." I finally answered. The girl gave me a puzzled look and continued to ring me up, as I turned to walk out I saw Nathanial looking at me.

He was leaning against the car door with his arms crossed over his chest and his beautiful smile sparkling in the light. I walked up to him prepared to speak, but he moved a hand to my cheek and brought his lips down to mine. The kiss was amazing, it was like we were one person, joined forever. As we parted, his eyes open and were locked on mine. Everything I needed to know, I knew, just by his eyes.

" You are my everything as well. I have known we were to be together since the first night I saw you. I never want to be apart from you, and I hope I never will be." Nathanial leaned down and kissed me again, this time was more gentle, and loving. I knew that this was right, and no matter what happened next I would be safe.

As we got back in to the car, an unfamiliar sound rang in my ears. I was a faint beeping noise, and Nathanial reached into his pocket and removed his cell phone. He looked at the called id and showed me that it was Samuel. I took in a deep breath, awaiting what would come next.
