Catch Me When I Fall (Garroth x Reader)

Combat Class

Your POV

   After gym Laurence, Garroth, Eren, Travis, Scarlet, Katelyn, Izzy, and me headed to combat. The principal had said that we were going to get special training for the competition.

When we got there our coach separated us from the combat class and put us in groups. I was with Travis. Izzy was with Eren. Laurence and Garroth were in a group. So was Scarlet and Katelyn. "You'll be going against each other. Everyday I will pair you. You will fight people bigger, faster, and stronger than you. Rule number one: never underestimate your opponent. Rule number two: believe in yourself and have in mind your strengths. When you start to fight the person will either give up or can't get up," our teacher said. "With that you may start."

   We all separated. Travis and me went to a corner. We were six steps away from each other and we counted down to one.

   Travis attached first trying to punch but I stepped away at the last minute. I came back and tried to attack with my fist but he deflected it and punched me in the ribs. I tried to think of what our teacher said believe in yourself and and have in mind your strengths. I then realized what he had meant. I knew he was strong and tall which meant he was a bigger target. I also knew I was faster and smaller so I was harder to hit.

   I got closer slowly and when he was about to attack back I ducked and kicked him of his feet. He was surprised by this and I took my chance and punched him hard in the gut. He then punched me back and he got up.
This when on and on until I jumped on him from behind and punched him in the jaw and then kicked him off his feet again. He gave in and I had beat him.

Scarlet's POV

   We had started and I was fighting Katelyn. We both had the same strength and speed. It was going on and off for about ten minutes already. She punched me in the gut at the same time I kicked her in the gut. I tried to think what difference we had and I realized something. She had strong arms and fists from being captain of volleyball but I had stronger legs from volleyball and soccer.

   I took my chance and kicked her legs. She fell and I kicked her side this time. She punched me in the jaw but I was able to kick her one more time. She gave in and I had beat her even though it was a close call.

Izzy's POV

   I was losing the fight against Eren. He was a lot stronger and bigger. I tried to think of potential weaknesses and got this: he was slow on his feet and used mostly his feet to attack.

   I thought of ways to use this against him and came with a strategy. He started running toward me but I moved aside and ran to the other side I went as far as I could. He started running toward me again and I took off. I was running as fast as I could at top speed and I saw so was he. I saw he was getting ready to kick me. I jumped and punched him as hard as I could in the jaw then the gut. He gave up and I realized I had won. I collapsed onto the ground.

Garroth's POV

   Laurence and me were of equal strength. I was faster though and usually got the first punch but he would follow soon. We were fighting for what felt like forever when we came in the kick. I saw this and punched first. He stumbled but kicked me off my feet.

   I got up and did the same to him. He quickly got back up and we attacked at the same time and both stumbled to the ground. I knew I was fast and I kicked him in the side before he could get up. He fell back down and I went to punch him but I fell into his trap. He was waiting for me and punched me in the jaw then gut. I backed away and charged at him. He waited then he punched me at the same time I kicked. "I give up," we said at the same exact time.
