I Lost My Temper

Lindsey looked up and saw Stevie, he smiled and went to walk over but he watched her turn her back and slam her dressing room door, he would have gone to her but the two minuet call was given, so he made his way to backstage ready to go on

Throughout the show Stevie didn't look at Lindsey once, him getting upset and trying to speak to her backstage during Micks drum solo

"Baby what's wrong?"

"What happened to your knuckles?"

"Nothing"

"Oh so just randomly wear a bandage on nothing do you?"

"Okay...I lost my temper a little"

"Yes Carol Ann told me all about it!" 

"She's seen you?"

"Yes, she didn't know who else to turn to" Lindsey tried to touch Stevie but she backed away

"Steph?"

"I don't want you touching me and I don't want you around my baby" She watched as tears welled in his eyes

"What...Why? What did I do wrong?"

"Have you seen what you've done to Carol Ann's face Lindsey? and you think I want you around my child?" Before Lindsey could answer it was time to go back onstage, he played the best he could but he couldn't help but make mistakes, he had no idea what Stevie was on about, leaving the stage at the end of the show he went straight to Stevie's dressing room, knocking and being greeted by Carol Ann herself, face a battered mess

"NO! You stay away from me!" he watched as she walked back and cowered behind Stevie

"What the fuck!" he said and Stevie came storming over to him 

"How dare you strike a woman! You aren't a man Lindsey Buckingham!"

"You think I did that?" he was devastated

"Look at her Lindsey, she's terrified of you! And your hand, your trying to tell me that its not linked?"

"You believe her over me?"

"Carol, go down to Christine's room, and I'll meet you there"

"Okay, but please be careful, I don't want you to end up like me" once she closed the door Lindsey spoke again

"Steph, you don't actually believe her do you? Please tell me you don't"

"You told me yourself you could have throttled her the other day, and then she turns up with a beaten face and you've got a cut hand what do you expect me to think?"

"I expect you to believe me, your supposed to love me Stephanie, how could you think I could do that?" Lindsey couldn't help the tears that fell from his eyes 

"I remember quite a few times when you used to grab me rather hard during an argument"

"I was young and stupid, and I would never hit you! Do you seriously not trust me with your child?"

"Honestly no, not after I've seen how scared Carol is of you" She watched as he took a visible step backwards

"Just to let you know I got my hand because Carol Ann called you a whore and said that you probably didn't know who the father was..."

"So you hit her?"

"NO! I punched the wall Stevie! but your not going to listen so there is no point in carrying this on, I hope you see what she's really like, and I hope you get on well with the pregnancy, because you've made it clear you don't want me around so I won't be, I just hope you know you've broken my heart, you thought I would stoop so low as to hit a woman, if you think that then you obviously don't know me like I thought you did" He didn't give her a chance to say anything else, he walked out the door in pieces

Stevie took Carol Ann back to her house, she had told Stevie that she was to scared to go back to her own house, once they got their Stevie sat down, she wanted to check she hadn't accused Lindsey of something he hadn't done

"Did Lindsey genuinely do this? because he's tried to convince me he didn't"

"Honestly I wish that I was lying, I never would have thought he would ever raise a hand to me"

"He said that you were saying horrible things about me and punched the wall"

"I did say some horrible things but no it was my face not the wall" She started to cry again "I'm sorry I said those things but I was heartbroken he was leaving me and our baby"

"He also said that the baby wasn't his"

"It is his, he told me that he was telling you that because your the one he wanted the baby with and if you thought I wasn't pregnant with his child then you would take him back"

"He actually said that?" Carol Ann nodded

"Its funny how you think you know someone and it turns out you don't know them at all" Stevie said sadly

"I'm sorry but I'm glad you found out through me and not because he hit you or your little one" It hit Stevie then that Lindsey might have turned on her child, she still couldn't quite believe Lindsey would do this, but Carol Ann could not fake the fear she was showing

"Look I'm going to have a bath okay, will you be alright down here by yourself? Feel free to put the TV on"

"I'll be fine, would it be okay to use your phone in the kitchen to call my mama? I might go and stay with her for a while"

"Sure honey, its on the wall by the sink"

"Okay, and thank you Stevie! For everything! I'm sorry I was such a bitch to you" She hugged Stevie and she actually hugged her once enemy back

"I wasn't the nicest person either, so I'm sorry too!" The two women smiled at each other and Stevie went to run her bath, she was just about to get in when she realised she had left her glass of wine downstairs, walking down she was about to walk into the kitchen when she heard Carol Ann on the phone and she was almost sick where she stood

"Yeah the stupid bitch believes everything I told her, she fucking hates Lindsey now!" Stevie heard silence which must have been the other person speaking before she answered again

"Yeah she actually believed me over Lindsey, she actually thinks Lindsey hit me, you did quite a job with my face there baby! Yeah I provoked him enough so he would punch something so he had blooded knuckles, it was easier for Stevie to believe he got it from knocking me around...Lindsey wouldn't hurt a fly, but I've got her thinking he would damage her or that thing inside her...Yeah okay I have to go now baby, she might be getting out the bath soon, I love you!" Stevie stood outside the door in absolute shock

"Oh my god what have I done?"
