A dere is usually a female character (but can be a male) in anime, manga and Japanese video games that follow a specific mood pattern. The term dere comes from the Japanese word "deredere"(デレデレ) meaning lovey dovey or lovestruck. Combining this word with others, we get new terms describing different love intrests in anime, manga, and Japanese video games.
