The term undere (ウンデレ) comes from a short way Japanese people say "yes". Underes agree to everything the one they love says to become as close as they can to their love intrest.
Great examples of undere characters are Hikari Hinomoto from "Tokimeki Memorial 2" and Misa Amane from "Death Note".
