"Well, I gotta go, Maya... I'll see you tomorrow." Asher winks at me and leaves the bus. I squeal from what just happened, forgetting there are other people on this bus. They all look at me like I'm crazy and I quickly avert my eyes and text Kayto.

'Asher just held my hand and winked at me ershmehgersh I'm freaking out kayyytoooooo!'

'Who dafrig is asher? And I need to know more. Call me once you're home. ;)"

I start feeling butterflies and I think about what would happen if I would have just leaned in and-- 'no! No think like that yet! It's your first day,' I tell myself.. I can't help but imagining kissing his soft round lips and holding onto that smooth black hair... I quickly get off the bus.

Once I greet my parents, i rush up to my room and dial Kayto's number.

"Heeeello?" She answers

"Hiiiiioiii *insert girly squeal*"

"Ho dayum you just about made me go deaf! And sorry about the thing with Dante and stuff..." She trails off and I can hear the embarrassment.

"Gurl, I don't care! Haha. Anyway, Asher is a boy who rides my bus and he held my hand and then when he got off he winked at me anddddd.... Nyeahay!!!!" I tell her, pretty much all in one breath. She giggles.

"Oooh someone liiiiiikes youuuu!!!" She teases me

"Well, enough about boys, how was your first day?" I ask

"It was good. The classes went fast and for recess break Dante and I found a spot to make out in soooo... Pretty awesome! I can let you and Asher use it in a couple weeks if you need it, too.."

"Oh mah gawsh Kayto.. Jeez... I wish." We laugh "well, I gotta go. You know, lots of food to eat and so little time. Byyyyyye"

"Byyyyyyye" she hangs up and I go to the kitchen.

Of course, there's my mom, ready to interview me about my first day.

"Hey hun! How was your first day? Get any homework? Meet any new friends? Was the lunch food okay?" She bombards me with questions.

"It was good. To answer your questions, no, yes, no." I reach for the Honey Barbeque chips and pour some in a bowl. "It was a good day, ma. It went by fast."

"That's good, chickie. Will you do me a favor?"

I groan. "What is it?"

"Don't be like that! And I need you to go unpack at least 2 boxes today. And organize stuff. Not just leave it laying there as you did these past couple weeks." She was right. I didnt clean my room yet and it was a pigsty. At least I'm not gonna be bored? I go back upstairs, my feet suddenly feeling like blocks of concrete. I realize how messy my room really is as I step over multiple notebooks, novels, pencils, necklaces, and clothes. I flop on my bed and dread the rest of the day.
