I scoot in next to Morris and he glances at me before averting his eyes to the stage, where the guitar guys are almost done setting up. Minutes pass, and finally the lights start to dim and a voice booms over the speakers.
"Ladies an gentleman, please welcome... Battle of The Guitars!" The school faintly cheers, and smoke covers the stage. The sound of guitars ring through our ears and I turn to Morris and whisper, "I can already feel the cringe." He chuckles lightly, still avoiding looking at me. Confused, I tap him on the shoulder and his eyes, finally, but hesitantly, meet mine.
"What's up?" He sighs and his eyes dart from the stage to me quickly, before leaning in and kissing me quickly. The feeling of his soft lips against mine even for a split second sends me into a frenzy of new thoughts and feelings.
Blushing in the dark gym, he apologizes.
"No it's fine that was.. Nice.." I giggle a little before realizing how awkward it is.
