Think

Ya know people you need to think before you act like a raging moron. If you get butt hurt too bad. If you didn't think before you did something stupid then it's your own damn fault. Don't blame the messenger.

As I said in a previous chapter, I'm not an epic graphic designer. I do, at times, spend some time sifting through the boards on the MDC stalking threads I think look cool or designers I know who make awesome graphics. I follow a few of them, some I don't. Just cause that's how I am.

Anyway, apparently there was a row today on there. I know only a small part of it from a designer I know and am friends with, who told me a bit of what happened.

Seriously folks it's plain rude to mess with another designer's graphics. Practically every designer on the MDC knows this. You wouldn't want someone to mess with your cover, banner, picspam, remix your trailer, or take apart and recode your thread. Would you? Not after you spent so much time getting it just right.

And what right would a customer have to go to another designer and hand them a graphic and ask, "The person who made this is on vacation, in another time zone, blah blah blah, whatever reason, and can't fix it right now, can you do this in the mean time so I can use it?"

Wouldn't this strike you, as a designer, as wrong and make you sit up and ask a few questions of the person?

Just think first.

Since I'm not an active designer on the MDC I've never had this happened to me. But I've made my own covers (badly for the most part, which is why I would never inflict my stuff on others by making anything for anyone!) and I know it takes time and if someone were to take one and mess with it and then use it ...

 The sword would come out.

Then to follow all of this up by bullying the designer who was upset because you did wrong to begin with, is simply childish. Whether it's the actual designer who did the wrong, the customer who initiated the wrong, or one of their friends, it's childish and plain stupid.

Now the friend of my friend is upset and all of this isn't even her fault. Someone took her graphic, she spent hours on, designing it and all, and they ruined it. Taking pieces out and making it look nothing like what she made, leaving her credit on there. Crediting her for something that looks wrong and lopsided because the girl didn't know what she was doing.

So the basic rule remains. Think before you act.

It's a rule that works well here just as it does in real life.

Think people. Do unto others as you would have done to you.

Karma don't like fools and bullies. She's just like that and when she hits, she hits hard.
