"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you." - A. A. Milne
----------
School was over, finally.
I was walking to my bike with my hands shoved into my jeans when I saw a girl skipping up to me. And no, my bike isn't a bicycle.
"Helloooo Alec." The girl sang.
My eyebrows knit together in confusion. "Who are you?" I did recognize her, but I didn't know what it was from. I hoped it wasn't from what I assumed.
I really need to quit this one-night stand shit. I'm always waiting for one of them to show up somewhere.
"I'm Eryn. I'm Harper's friend." She chirped. Her smile was very wide and bright.
"Okay..." I waited for her to continue, leaning back on my heels.
"Oh. Well, I was going to help you with Harper. Do you want her number?" Now she had my attention. Then again, she already had my attention. She was hot. Sue me.
"Yeah, definitely." I smirked. I slipped my iPhone from my pocket and unlocked it. I brought up contacts and handed her my phone. I watched as she typed in the information I needed.
Sucks that she was helping me break her friends heart.
She handed me back my phone and I glanced at what she had named the contact. With her bubbly nature, I had assumed she'd put a nickname. "You're letting me down there, Eryn. Didn't even put in a nickname."
"You've gotta come up with your own nickname for her! Something special." She giggling and waved, walking over to what I assumed was her car.
Only a few seconds later, Harper walked out of the school and looked around. Eryn was already waiting by the car.
I watched for a moment, tempted to talk to her. I looked down at my phone and smiled. I started walking to my bike as I texted, and then hit send. I'm watching you. I slid my phone into my pocket and sat down on the red and black motorcycle.
Harper pulled her own phone from her sweatshirt pocket. Even across the parking lot I could see terror cross her face. She looked around, and spotted me.
By now I couldn't hold in my laughter, and was glad I didn't fall off my bike as I heaved over in laughter. I rushed to catch my breath as she stomped across the parking lot. I couldn't ruin my chance for this date tomorrow. "Okay okay, I'm really sorry but I couldn't resist. Your fear is truly amusing."
"How did you get my number!" She demanded, folding her arms across her chest.
"Wow. You're terrifying. Truly, I would never want to anger you again." I chuckle. "But really, you should be questioning your friend by the car over there." I nod in Eryn's direction, and Harper spins around and stomps off towards her.
I hope I didn't just end that poor girl's life.
I start the bike and speed out of the parking lot.
--------------
I'm standing outside of my house. I'm wearing jeans and a leather jacket over a tight white tank top. I was cold. It was probably 55 degrees outside, and that is not tank top weather.
It's time for me to go pick her up for our date and I still don't know where to take her. Procrastination at its finest.
I walk down the driveway and sit down on my motorcycle.
