TigerKit walked beside FoxStar. The sun had decided to show its face but, unfortunately, its appearance had no affect on the temperature. He watched FoxStars paws in order to avoid being stepped on as he followed in her shadow, for he was much smaller than the fully grown warrior. He was being shown around by FoxStar and FeatherMoon, friends of his fathers, because this was his first time outside the nursery and it thrilled him. He has already learned quite a lot of information about the camp and cats he will stand beside for the rest of his life. FoxStar is the leader of the clan and FeatherMoon is her deputy. The leader and the deputy work together to ensure all the cats are well, they do things like sending out hunting patrols so that all the cats are fed or organizing patrols to ensure the camps safety. Warriors are cats that serve the clan with their lives, they hunt, they fight, they defend all for the sake of the clan. They also train apprentices wich are kits who have reached the age where they can begin to hunt and learn to fight. They hunt for the clan, go on patrols and do a few chores too. A kit must be six moons old in order to become an apprentice which means TigerKit will have to wait four moons in order to become an apprentice. Elders are retired warriors that the whole clan has to look after. All they do is tell good stories to kits and get their ticks removed by apprentices. Medicine cats are cats that have the knowledge of Starclan which helps them to know wich herbs to use when a cat is sick or injured and they also receive messages from Starclan like prophecies and such.
"Every cat has their own role that helps to keep the clan safe and healthy" FoxStar informed. TigerKit nodded in understanding.
"So.. this is the aprentices den" FeatherMoon directed TigerKit to a clump of bushes big enough to fit many cats. He poked his head through a gap which seamed to be the entrance to have a good look inside. The den was warm, unlike outside, and TigerKit was overcome with new scents. In front of him where moss beds some of wich occupied by resting cats some flattened from the previous night.
"Woah!" TigerKit was was completely awestruck, but, his display of excitement was quickly corrected with a loud
"Shhhhhhh!" It had come from the cat closest to TigerKit, a long furred black cat with striking yellow eyes.
"Sorry" he wispered as he backed out of the den. The only reply was a muffled growl. His fur grew hot with embarrassment as he turned to see another by passer staring at him in confusion. The fur on his neck stood on end. This by passer was a sturdy, flame coloured tom that had bright green eyes and a kind face. He bagan to pad toward TigerKit and he braced himself for a growling. But none came. Instead the tom greeted TigerKit with a smile.
"Hello!" He chirped "My name is OakTail. You must be BlueFangs kit right?" TigerKit blinked, how do so many cats know who I am?
"Yeah... are you a friend of my fathers or something?" He asked.
"Something like that. I'm RobbinWings brother. That makes you my nephew" he meowed kindly. TigerKit opened his mouth to speek but he was cut of by a group of kittens that seamed to be older than him mewing their whiskers off over some mouse.
"Kits" FoxStar hissed quietly. TigerKit gave her a stern look.
"Hey you haven't had your first taste of fresh kill have you?" FeatherMoon interrupted. Now that TigerKit thought about it he had not infact tried fresh kill before. He shook his head in reply.
"Oh, then how about we go see whats on the fresh kill pile? I still haven't had my morning meal yet." She suggested. TigerKit admired her kindness, FeatherMoon was very responsible and trustworthy cat and TigerKit hoped he would have similar traits when he grows up.
"Hey, can I come too?" OakTail looked somewhat excited. FeatherMoon nodded and the four cats began to walk in the direction of the fresh kill pile. TigerKit was excited, he could not wait for all the amazing things life would introduce to him.
