The Newleaf sun flooded through the nursery entrance creating dappled lights that danced across TigerKits chocolate coloured pelt. That night he had dreamed of racing after prey in the forest with the wind in his fur and the Greenleaf sun warming his pelt. He blinked open his eyes and lifted his head. He cocked his head one way then the other, hearing his neck click. Yawing, he pushed himself up to sit on his haunches. Now that Leafbare is over and Newleaf has taken its place, he had finally managed to get a good nights sleep. TigerKit remembered his first day outside the nursery. Back then he was only small and every thing was new to him, now, after two moons, he has gotten used to it all. He looked around as he heard the moss shift. His sister yawned and stretched her front legs, flexing her claws then turned over and continued to sleep. He looked over to RobbinWing her belly rose and fell slowly as she slept. TigerKit decided to get up and see if anyone else was awake. As he walked he stretched one leg after the other then he stopped and stretched his back in an arch. Stepping outside, he waited for his eyes to get used to the bright light then proceeded to the warriors den. He peered inside. Most of the warriors were still asleep but four of the nests were empty.
"Are you looking for FeatherMoon, OakTail, AshNose or BlueFang?" A sand coloured she-cat beside the entrance stared at TigerKit kindly.
"If you are, they went on the morning patrol. They won't be back for a while." She said resting her head on her paws.
"Oh. Well, thank you anyways!" He wispered the backed out of the den.
"I hope you're not bothering them!" TigerKit jumped. He swerved around to see FoxStar standing behind him.
"N no I was just looking for someone" he laughed awkwardly. FoxStar smiled.
"Don't worry about it" TigerKit let out a breath of relief.
"You're up quite early. Could you not sleep?" FoxStars expression went a little serious she clearly had concern for the health of her clan, something every successful leader ahould have.
"No. That was the best night I've had so far! I'm... just not used to sleeping so well" he smiled easing the tension.
"Yeah I had a pretty good night as well. Now that NewLeaf is here I'm hoping I can have a decent morning meal too" FoxStar chirped licking her lips hungrily. TigerKit nodded in agreement.
"Yeah. I'm hoping there will be enough prey for me to have my first fresh kill!" TigerKit, due to the shortage of prey, has had to continue to drink milk for and extra moon.
"Hey this is a weird question but... how does everyone know who I am? I mean, ever since I came out of the nursery everyone already knew me. How?." He quizzed. It had been bothering him for a while now and he had to know.
"Well, you and your sister were the only kits born in Leafbare. Everyone worried about you because you were BlueFang and RobbinWings first litter." She explained shuffling her paws in the sand. TigerKit looked into FoxStars eyes. She was a trustworthy cat who wouldn't hesitate to risk her life or lives for her clan and whould only fight when absolutely necessary. A true warrior.
"Well, I need to organise the morning patrol. Bye" FoxStar mewed then walked off towards another warrior that TigerKit had not noticed before. He watched as she reached the other cat and began to converse. TigerKit got bored and wondered when BlueFang and the others would return. He began to walk back to the nursery when he saw his sister walking towards him. On their first day outside the nursery she had wondered off. It turns out she went to see BlueFang then listened to stories from the elders the rest of the day.
"Hey" he said when RavenKit reached him. She touched her nose to his cheek in greeting.
"You got up without me!" She complained.
"You looked comfortable so I didn't want to wake you" he replied.
"Hey, I heard the best story from one of the elders the other day, do you want to go hear it?" TigerKit could tell she had noticed that he was bored. He gazed over at the elders den.
"Maybe laterl they need to sleep to regain their strength. It was a long Leafbare." He commented. RavenKit looked at the den too then turned back to TigerKit.
"Yeah, you're right, it's too early. So, what do you plan on doing until they wake up?" She inquired waiting for suggestions. TigerKit remembered FeatherMoon and the others they should return soon right?.
"Well you could hang out with me and my friends?" He suggested. She immediately had a suprised look on her face.
"You have freinds?" she teased gasping. TigerKit frowned.
"Yes! Why is that a suprise?" RavenKit laughed.
"I'm joking! Sure I'd love to hang out!" She giggled once more.
"You better be joking!" he wispered under his breath. Just then OakTail walked into camp followed by FeatherMoon, BlueFang and a worrior TigerKit had never seen before. He thought back to when that sand coloured worrior spoke to him. She had mentioned a cat called AshNose. That must be him. AshNose was a solid grey tom with light grey speckles around his nose and his eyes were a dark green.
"Hey OakTail!" He called managing to catch his attention. He looked at him then began to walk over. To TigerKits suprise AshNose followed as well.
"Hey!" He said smiling slightly despite the rabbit haging from his jaws. AshNose padded up beside him.
"Who's this?" He frowned. TigerKit looked up at him. He felt RavenKit back away.
