TigerKit gazed at the small pile of prey that had been stored in Leaffall. This moon was not the best for trying your first pice of fresh kill. All the pile consisted of was a scrawny mouse a sparrow and two squirrels.
"Prey is scarce in Leafbare this is all we could do I guess" FeatherMoon had noticed the slight hint of disappointment in TigerKits eyes.
"Yeah sorry about that" FoxFur added after getting a slight nudge from FeatherMoon.
"You're lucky. Yesterday there was just a mouse and what looked like a small vole" OakTail commented not helping with the situation. TigerKit thought for a bit.
"Oh well. I should probably not have any fresh kill then, the other cats need it more than I do" he mewed backing away from the small pile of prey. FeatherMoon smiled.
"How about we go say hello to your father?" She offered. TigerKit agreed and followed the warriors. FoxStar stopped
"I just remembered I promised MistClaw I would go on patrol with him"
"Allright I'll see you later then?" OakTail mewed. FoxFur nodded and began to trot towards a clump of ferns.
"Stay out of trouble!" FeatherMoon called after her but the she-cat just continued giving FeatherMoon a sly look over her shoulder. TigerKit looked back at the two warriors that were left. Just now did he realise how distracted they acted, a hint of worry had appeared in their eyes. TigerKit began feeling concerned. He decided to confront one of the warriors.
"FeatherMoon" the warrior flinched then looked him in the eye.
"Is there something bothering you?" He spoke in a way to seam as if he was just curious in order to get an honest answer. She frowned.
"Well you see, you haven't been here long enough to know this but Leafbare is when cats have a high chance of getting sick." From the expression on her face TigerKit could tell that she had dumbed down the answer to make it seam less serious. He got frustrated but was careful to keep a curious expression.
"Sick how?" He pushed. FeatherMoon hesitated then she smiled.
"We'll tell you when you're older" she laughed. TigerKits fur stood on end in frustration but he shook it off. Surely if there was something he should worry about she would tell him. Right?
