It all started with a fight that went way out of control. It ended with your dad beating your mother. While they were screaming at each other you called Calum.

"Babe, my parents are in a huge fight and I'm sitting in my room cause I don't want to get involved." You whispered afraid to make a sound.

"Hey baby it's ok if they love each other they will make it through this." He replied.

"They have been fighting about everything lately I think this is the last straw." You said gasping as you heard a slap and then a scream coming from your mother. You put the phone on speaker as the worst part came.

"That's it I'm done!" Your mother screamed storming to your room. You let her in. The phone was still on, so Calum could hear what was going on.

"Your father is a menace. He is leaving and we are never seeing him again." She said trying to keep her calm. You couldn't help but notice the hand mark on her face.

"Did he hit you?" You asked Calum's breathing becoming softer when you asked the question. He didn't want you getting into trouble for letting him hear this.

"Yes that is why he is going away." She said.

"I will have divorce papers by tomorrow." She said turning to head out the door and go to court to get the papers.

"Wait mom, can I go to Calum's?" You asked sitting beside your phone on the bed.

"Sure but let him know in advance." She said heading out the door.

"Cal I'm coming over." You said, hearing him let out a long breath.

"You were right Y/N. That was the last straw." He said after 5 seconds of silence. (a/n I had to don't hate me please). You headed out the door and walked to Cal's house, knocking on it before he opened it and you fell into his arms, finally upset about what happened minutes before. He picked you up and carried you to the couch where you sat for about an hour, with you on his lap crying into his shoulder.

"I can't believe that happened." You wailed unable to control yourself anymore. Your phone buzzed, but you were to busy to check it, so Cal did.

"It's your mom." He said you looked at him. Pain was etched on his face.

"What does it say?" You asked, it came out more like a sob.

"It says, it's all done we are divorced." He replied sliding your phone back into your jeans pocket, and holding your shaking body to his warm one once again.

"Hey baby it's ok. It's all going to turn out fine, we wouldn't do that to our kids." He said obviously hinting at something.

"Are you saying we will get married?" You asked stopping the crying to look at him. He nodded.

"Y/N will marry me?" He asked, making you cry even harder. He had a ring in his pocket, he was just waiting for the right time, and now seemed like the time so he did it. You were both in your early 20's but you didn't leave home because your parents didn't want you to.

"Yes of course!" You exclaimed. He slid the ring on your finger.

"You could move in with me." Cal offered. You nodded.

"Let's go unpack and take it here." You packed up all your things, and broke the news to your parents, who were quite happy after just getting divorced.

"Y/N don't end up like us ok." Your dad said. Cal smiled.

"I love her to much to let her go." He said taking the last box to his car and taking you to your new life together
