"Help me carry her!" I said still in tears. "We HAVE to bring her back! She could come back! She has to!"
I started to pick up Cammie with the help of everyone else and brought her to the car.
"She calls shotgun!" I yelled. "She would've called it anyways..." We sat her up on the passenger's seat. I sat behind her in the back with Nico sitting next to me. Leo started up the car and I sobbed some more. I just lost my best friend. She's still here but she's not at the same time.
For the rest of the day nobody talked till I spoke up. "What do you call a flying bagel?!" I couldn't stop sobbing. I had to keep the group happy for Cammie's sake.
"What?" Jason said sadly.
"A plain bagel." I said. I had to keep them happy and the only way was with Cammie's jokes. I stopped crying and said some corny jokes that Cammie had told us at lunch time, at school. It did cheer everyone up kinda but everyone was still upset.
In time we arrived at back at Camp Half-Blood. All that this quest was supposed to do was to try and fulfill the prophecy. Half was fulfilled but we still need to do the other half. We stopped the quest only because Cammie... well... you know the rest.
We carried Cammie out of the car and into camp. Everyone was watching us with big eyes.
"Did something like Medusa happen?!" an Athena child asked. None of us answered as we carried her to the big house. Chiron was sitting there on the porch playing a game I didn't remember the name to.
"What happened?" Chiron asked.
No one answered him.
"Well?" he asked.
I decided that I would tell. I told him about the Infinite Gates and Terror. I even told him about the dreams, but leaving the one about me drowning out of the conversation. I didn't need him to know about that one. I told him about our adventures getting the map at the fried chicken shack, about the caves, and about Rhea. He listened very carefully to my explanations.
Chiron wanted for us to keep Cammie here just in case there is a potion he can make to make her come back. I don't think that's possible. We all went in separate directions in groups. Percy and Annabeth went to the ocean. Jason and Piper to the fighting arena. Leo went by himself to Bunker 9. Meanwhile Nico and I walked to the willow tree.
Once we got there, there was a cave made with a faint red glowing stone. I heard someone gasp and came running out of it.
"Your back Sydney!" Jack said hugging me. The ring I gave him was glowing a bright red meaning I was near him. "Where's Cammie?" His face got dark.
"Infinite Gates and Terror..." I said. "Don't worry about it right now..." I was still upset about what happened. "Anyways... what's up with this cave?"
"It's our new cabin!" Jack said excited. "Surprise! I used my powers to make it cause we didn't have one!"
"I like it!" I said walking in. There were three bunks, one for me, Jack, and...
A girl walked in wearing a red beanie hat with long brown hair like mine. She was the one from my drowning dream! She was wearing a regular dark blue shorts and a t-shirt that said "Camp Half-Blood".
"Are you Sydney? My sister?" She said. "My name's Kiyara!"
I stood there dumbfounded for a second and said. "Yeah. That's my name. You're my sister?!"
"Yeah." Kiyara said.
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
"The day after you left for your quest with your friend..." She stopped herself when Jack gave her a 'stop talking look or else your gonna die'.
"Oh." I said taking another look around the room. There was a hallway looking into a kitchen and living room. And leading off of that was a bathroom. All of the cabins didn't have that! Well except the Hephaestus cabin because they just have secret rooms no one knows about except the campers that live in there.
My whole entire backpack was laying on the bed. Wait! That was the one that I thought I left behind before the whole split up thing with Nico and Leo at New Rome while Cammie... and I was in those caves.
I took a quick look inside to see everything there. Even the jar of peanut butter!
"I got a jar of peanut butter and I'm gonna kill you with it..." I said sadly. Cammie's joke was so stupid then but now it means something way more. I'll have to continue her jokes to keep myself going.
I walked out of the cabin with Nico, Kiyara, and Jack.
"Oh yeah! I've been teaching Jack to fight!" Kiyara said.
"Ok." I said. "I still don't want him charging into war though! Jack can show me how he fights later." Kiyara and Jack left to go train leaving Nico and me behind. I sat down leaning against the tree and so did Nico.
I slid down on my back and looked at the shapes of the clouds. There was ones that looked like owls and squirrels that made me laugh softly.
Nico was laying down to looking up at the sky. The soft grass pricked at my hair making some stick to me. He turned so he was on his side and looked at me. I did the same.
"Don't worry she'll be alright." Nico said to me.
"I know she will." I said. Honestly I didn't know if she would. I looked away for one second but when I looked back at him he was kissing me. He pulled away and looked at me.
"Do you wanna be my girlfriend?" He asked.
"Yes!" I said hugging him. That made me a little bit more happy besides the fact that I might never see Cammie again...
This time I kissed him. Then we got up and walked towards camp holding hands.
