Dan's POV:
Phil and I have been friends since preschool. He borrowed my black crayon and it was all downhill from there. Just kidding. Looking back on it, in fourth grade I realized that I had feelings for him. But I didn't know that what I felt wasn't what everyone else felt towards their best friend. I didn't talk about it because it wasn't a big deal at the time.
I finnaly came to terms with my sexuality roughly around two years ago, in the summer before eighth grade. After a lot of thinking I decided to come out to Phil but I didn't tell him about my feelings. I couldn't risk our friendship.
We are nearing the end of sophomore year and withholding this secret from Phil is kind of turning my brain into mush. I feel guilty and ashamed about it at the same time.
After thinking about it for over half the year I've decided to text him about my feelings. Yes, I know, I'm a coward, PJ told me a million and one times. But, I know I wouldn't be able to muster the nerves up to say it to his cute face. And at the same time, he needs to know.
So that leads me to here: Sitting on my bed, phone in hand, kik open and ready.
