"Karls, you are the only one who will persuade her to go down to the beach.... Just do it!" Austin begged Karlie as they spoke in the kitchen, trying to prevent Taylor from walking in on them.
There was a plan in action, and only 5 people knew about it: Austin, Karlie, Josh (Karlie just COULDN'T keep it to herself for the days before), Abi, and Matt.... And Tom of course, as the mastermind behind it all.
A few days earlier Tom had called to apologize for the fact he was no longer going to make her legendary 'Taymerica' party in Rhode Island, as his recording work had 'majorly run over'.
"Okay... I'll try." Karlie finally agreed, rolling her eyes slightly, "If only there wasn't the whole paps everywhere.... But I'll try."
"I am confident in your abilities Karlie." Abi said, high-fiving her as they left the kitchen to go back to the rest of the group on the back patio, carrying snacks to cover the fact they were scheming in the kitchen.
"So.... Who wants to go down to the beach? It'll be SO much fun!" Karlie said, her sunny disposition and optimism shining through.
"You guys can go." Taylor said, as everyone started to agree.
"Oh come on Teffy!" Austin said, leading the group out, masking his smile.
"Just for like 10 minutes Tay... we can get some awesome group shots and have fun on the beach and then come back here." Karlie said, slinging an arm around Taylor's shoulder as she watched her friends face consider it.
"Okay.... Just for a bit." She replied.
"Let's go!" Karlie said, mentally patting herself on the back.
The whole group walked down the steps and clambered over rocks, making their way down to the water's edge, chatting away as they made it down. Austin had surreptitiously held back the majority of the group so that Taylor was near the front of the group, telling a few people what was going on before rushing ahead into the waves.
As Taylor got to the bottom of the rocks she looked out at the waves, assessing the paparazzi situation carefully before looking out at the perfect water and seeing Austin talking to a very familiar looking person who had their back to her. As she pulled off her sunglasses to see more clearly the person in question turned around.
Thoughts rushed through her head, her eyes HAD to be deceiving her.... He had told her he was busy and couldn't make it.... but there he was, standing in the waves with her brother, smiling so perfectly at her. Her eyes shifted down from his face and she noticed his tank top.... It was plain white but on the front said 'I <3 T.S.'. That did it for her and her face broke into a brilliant smile.
Taylor took off running into the waves and straight towards him, not even turning back to see her friends smiling at the situation and ignoring her brother's fake gags as she threw her arms around Tom and gave him multiple kisses before burying her head in the crook of his neck and clinging onto her.
"I guess my surprise worked." Tom said, chuckling slightly as more people joined them in the waves.
"Mmm hmmm..... You are a sneaky, sneaky man." Taylor said, pocking him in the chest slightly.
"Well, I do like to surprise the lovely ladies in my life." He replied, making Taylor smile even more as she gave him one last kiss before joining her friends for a picture, never straying too far from her sneaky and amazing man.
