(the movies; I unfortunately have never gotten my hands on the books)
The characters fit almost perfectly! At least, numbers-wise. There would be some personality stretching, or maybe not, depending on who wrote what type of fic. But anyway, without further ado, here are the character crossovers:
Dipper: Hiccup
Mabel: Toothless
Stan: Gobber
Soos: Fishlegs
Wendy: Ruffnut
Robbie: Tuffnut (hehe, same voice actor even)
Gideon: Snotlout
Pacifica: Astrid
Ford: Stoic
McGucket: That Wise Woman lady that decides who fights the dragon
Bill: the giant dragon leader guy (not the Alpha from the second movie, the one in the first movie)
Okay, I got Bill and everyone on the Cipher Wheel, though there might be other characters that fit.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH ISN'T THIS AN AMAZING IDEA?! I SO WANNA SEE OR READ THIS!
(And before you say "well why don't you write it?" I regret to reply that Gravity Rises and Winged Falls are basically taking up all of my writing time and brain space)
BUT THINK: Hiccup and Toothless's relationship between Dipper and Mabel (PLUS Mabel being even more adorable as a dragon), Wendy and Robbie being viking twins ("Oh, here's one with flowers on it. Girls like flowers."), and of course Pacifica with Astrid's attitude making Dipcifica even BETTER!
