We had been so engrossed in Adrian's story that we hadn't even noticed when we pulled into an enormous parking lot that was laid around a humongous, red bricked building. It was plentiful in wide windows that reflected the lights of the city, glowing like a hearth amidst the darkness. A glass tower, it seemed to stretch so high it could touch the moon.

The moon! It was a crescent that night. At first I thought it to be beautiful, peaceful. But the memory of Hydra's moon-colored, serpent eyes quickly flooded my mind and suddenly the moon became watchful and menacing, as if Hydra would discover where we were if I stared at it for too long. I quickly averted my eyes and gave a shiver.

"Cold, Love?" Adrian asked me. "No need to worry, we'll get you out of that rag and into something a bit more warm and presentable. Kanoa must have something to offer you. I doubt Zuri will share."

"Thank you," I said, even though my shiver had nothing to do with the night air. "Who is Kanoa?" I asked, trying to fill my brain with anything other than Hydra.

"Quite the gentle one, that girl. She's kind of the mother of our little family," he said, parking the corvette in front of the grandoise entrance. "Kanoa is the one who is able to block our energy."

"That must be useful for hiding from Demons and the other Psychics," Isaid.

"Quite effective. You needn't worry about a thing. That creature won't get a hint of your energy here."

All three of us stepped out of the car. Adrian tossed the keys to an awaiting valet. The young man did a double take at me, staring in horror. I cringed away from his stare and quickened my pace after Adrian, trying not to hobble so much on my bad leg. Ben tried to carry me again but I pushed him away from me, refusing to be more of a damsel and a spectacle than I already had been.

"So there's Kanoa," Ben said. "What are the other's names?"

"Kanoa Haimi, Zuri Civil, Justice Darian, and Berit Amarantos," Adrian listed the names of the rebel Psychics. "They all have their own unique ability. Kanoa, as I've said, can conceal energy as well as make it seem like said energy is being signaled from a different location. She needs to be familar with both locations first though. She's still a work in progress, but it is quite an interesting ability. For now, she can only do it with a small group of people. In time, maybe she can expand." He shrugged.

"We'll need her to hide our energy from Hydra. I hope you realize the danger you're putting you and your friends in by housing us," Ben cautioned.

"Nothing I like more than a little danger and a challenge."

"So the others, Zuri, Justice, and Berit; what are their abilities?" I asked, fascinated already by Kanoa's power.

"Zuri has the ability of telekinesis," Adrian said. "She likes to accompany it with the use of guns."

"How?" Ben and I asked together as Adrian tipped an imaginary hat to the doorman and pushed us through the revolving door. I was excited to use one. They were just as fun as I'd imagined.

"Welcome to the Kenway Hotel," a petite brunette woman in blue uniform struggled to smile at us as she passed by and added to Adrian, "and welcome back Mr. Kenway." She gave Ben and I a wary look before shuffling away. We did look pretty out of place, all beaten up and dirty.

Adrian continued on about the girl, Zuri. "She doesn't need to aim at her target. The person could be anywhere near her, even behind her, and she could move the bullet their way in the blink of an eye."

"Jeesh, I wouldn't want to piss her off," Ben said as we approached a lovely round oak desk with a pretty blond woman behind it who was talking perkily into a telephone. "But she can't just go around shooting people?"
