Thorne : Part 2
"What?" I was dazed at my father's words, at the idea of Nameless being both God and Demon, and began shaking my head in denial. "That can't be possible. Demons and Gods are complete enemies. They wouldn't breed together."
"Thorne, I am going to share with you the story of how this came to be. Stay quiet until the end, understood?"
I nodded, feeling light headed. There was so much I just didn't know.
"Centuries ago," Father began, "There was a Goddess of the earth. She was known by the names Gaia, Terra, Tellus, Cel, and Cybele, but in her last era she called herself Demeter. Demeter ruled the Living Realm, watching over the humans and other creatures it prospered. Demeter was said to be kind and radiant with the life energy that filled her realm.
"Of course, being in the Living Realm, Demeter would encounter Ghosts, and unfortunately, the Demons that adored possessing and tormenting the humans as well. Demeter considered the humans to be her children, so like any great mother would do, she'd fight the disrupting spirits and abolish the rancid Demons from her realm to protect them.
"But then there was one mischievous Demon that rose. This monster's name was Typhon. He would savagely murder the humans and destroy their villages. So feared was he, that the people reluctantly built him his own temple of worship. Though he was bestowed his own temple, and received sacrifices to satisfy him, Typhon did not halt his murderous rampages.
"Demeter, out of the love she held for her children, confronted the insufferable Demon. At first glance, Demeter was repulsed by the unsightly Typhon. Typhon, however, instantly desired Demeter. Though Demeter fought tooth and nail with all the great powers she could muster, she lost."Here, Father paused, and from the side angle I was looking at him at, I could see a look of aversion cross his features, his lip curling and brow creasing. "After Demeter was defeated, too contused tofight any longer, the bastard raped her."
My stomach lurched, and my hands curled into fists. Damn, sordid Demon. It was completely unethical for something as defiled as a Demon to ever wish to be with something as pure as a God. It was sickening. It was unnatural.
"Demeter became pregnant with the hellion's child, an absolute tragedy that she would be blighted with such a creature inside of her. She claimed that she would love it nonetheless, no matter the nature of the brutish Demon father. Demeter bestowed her new daughter the names Kairos and Prospernia, due to her pure powers. The other Gods, who were against the idea of such a creature, gave her the names Kāla-rātri and Persephone so that Demeter would never forget the darker side of her daughter.
"The child was no doubt going to be a Hybrid between a God and a Demon, meaning that she would be the most powerful of all individual beings. The only thing that might be able to rival the mixed powers of the demonic and the divine would be the three Higher Gods, but even they may not be enough. The Demons, if they got their hands on such a child and raised her to be damned, could finally defeat the Gods as they would no longer fear the power of the three and could quite possibly conquer all realms.
"This was the thoughts of Typhon, who learned of his offspring growing in Demeter's womb. Despite being made from a tragedy and being half damned,Demeter believed she could raise the child to overcome her devilish nature and become fully celestial. But Typhon, who had fled earth fearing the wrath of the Gods for his unforgivable sin, bribed his brother Hades into stealing the child after it had been born. If Hades stole the infant, he could make her his queen when she grew older. Hades, of course, accepted.
"Hades succeeded, but Demeter chased after him and injured him immensely. Typhon, however, appeared before Demeter after the fight. Demeter was able to give the hybrid child to a Seeker who took her safely away from earth and to Purgatory. In her already weakened state, Typhon maimed Demeter easily, even though she fought incredibly hard, stealing the child for himself. Then, without a care, Typhon finished off his injured brother, and Hades was obliterated, making Typhon his successor for the title of Demon Lord.
