(20) Dear Cousin

Recap:

"Lucas, That's her wife in the other side of the room" Savanna said plainly while Lucas  could only flinch at her tone. She wasn't mad, or sad, nor happy about it either. She was neutral

And it made him flinch again

"I can't"

"I cant answer his call cause if I do then I don't know what to do" He looked up and Savanna was surprise when she saw the vulnerability that was etched in his handsome face

"I don't want to see the betrayal when he knows that I didn't protect her, When he realized I forgotten about her when I promised him"

"I promised him Savanna but all I thought was you or What would happen to you if I was too late"

"Lucas" It was the only things she said and now he felt guilty

"Call Him"

And for the first time, Savanna saw the little boy in him. The boy who learned to be a man in a very young age

The boy who fought for his kingdom only to fall in failure

This boy, the boy who fought his hardest to save her

And so she couldn't help but feel herself opening to this lost boy

Chapter Twenty (Unedited)

The cold winter air bit Savannas skin as she shivered slightly, She could feel the storm coming but refrained herself when she knew she wasn't the only one. She watched the stars that shined brightly against the dark sky, winking at her with wonder while she sat on a car with a frown on her face. She aimlessly twitch and move every time that Lucas who saw her cramped posture, ask silently

"You alright?"

Savanna nodded but kept her eyes outside the blurry forest

"Amanda's gonna be fine you know that right" again she nodded but her mind wasn't just about Amanda but the fact was that her powers were out and it horrified her. She had two days to think, to remember and see what she done that night. Lucas had told her how she screamed and the creatures that were named as ghouls unexpectedly retreated, although she was happy that it was finally over, her mind still couldn't wrap the fact that seventy three or more wolves had died in that battle and that includes children younger then ten

She couldn't help but be afraid of herself as she looked at her hands mindlessly as if black ink would surround her pale skin again

She had visited Amanda more then twice, well she never really left her room where she stayed beside her until Lucas had informed her of their departure and so she kissed Amanda's pale forehead goodbye and left

They had to leave Amanda who still hadn't woken up from coma and she knew it would take a day for Amanda to arrive to Lucas' place without hurting her through traveling. Although Savanna wishes for her to wake up, a part of her dislike that she was going to have to tell her of her misfortune

the fact that she was carrying a baby....

such small bundle of joy that was taken away from her

Was this the reason of her visit that night? That she wanted to talk about being a mother? or what it felt like to carry something human and wonderful

" Savanna" surprised she turned towards Lucas who was now looking at her in concern but in time to time would watch the open road "your crying"

She didn't know she was crying until she brought her hand towards her now wet cheeks before she wiped them with a shrug but didn't reply
