Epilogue

Six months had passed since William left.

I sat next to my bedroom window like I did every night, hoping to see William return, preferably without Morgana, but safe and sound.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on my door.

"Come in." I called

Merlin entered and sat down on the ground next to me "Are... are you okay, Beatrice?"

"I'm fine." I replied in a flat tone.

"Don't lie to me. You haven't been yourself since the day he left. Before, you would go out and ride Luna every day, shoot arrows, pet wild animals, just be outside! But I haven't seen you outside of this room since... I can't even remember."

"You must be mistaken. I feel perfectly fine."

"Really? When was the last time you ate?"

"Supper." I lied

"What did you have?"

"I had enough."

All of a sudden, my stomach growled loudly. Perfect timing.

Merlin gave me a concerned look "This isn't healthy, Beatrice. Over the past six months, you have lost twenty pounds by starving yourself! I can see the bones on your arms! You have dark circles under your eyes from lack of sleep!"

"Look, Merlin, I'm completely fine, alright?"

He put his hand on my knee "I'm just concerned. You need to take care of yourself. If you keep going on like this, you might kill yourself."

I looked at Merlin, and I noticed how beautiful his eyes were. Were they always that blue?

And his hair? I ran my hand through it slowly; it was so soft.

And his lips...

I leaned forward, preparing for my lips to touch his.

Wait, I thought, what am I thinking?

I leaned back quickly, hoping Merlin didn't catch on to my hints.

Merlin looked at me, almost disappointed "Umm... Beatrice?"

"I-I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me."

I'm becoming desperate, I tried to convince myself. I'm missing William so much that I'm trying to replace him with someone else.

I started to tear up "I-I need William."

Merlin nodded "I know you're feeling alone, but please, promise me one thing?"

"Yes?"

"Please sleep tonight."

I nodded.

"And eat tomorrow."

"Okay."

He stood up and patted my shoulder "Good night, Beatrice."

"Good night."

🚨CONSTRUCTION ZONE🚨

Congratulations! You have unofficially reached the end of this story!

What do I mean by unofficially? Well, it is the end of the story as of now. But it's gonna be going through a lot of changes.

So, basically, I am now in the process of editing this story. So, I would recommend that after you read this chapter, you should wait until I'm done with this phase before you reread/continue. Because I might add a chapter, I might take away a chapter. Who knows?

Thanks for reading this far. It means a lot to me. 😊
