8. Nothing

Teniyah P.O.V
The boys were sitting in the waiting room but I couldn't sit still. I paced around rubbing my hands together and pushing my hair out of my face. Taylor got up and stood in my way.

"Baby girl are you sure you don't want to sit down ?"

"I can't." He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. He engaged me in a hug and I couldn't help but cry. He rubbed up and down my back and soothed my hair. For the first time since my mom went on her trip ...I felt safe.

"My baby !!" She said running in the waiting room.

"Mom !" I yelled and let go of Taylor. She hugged me and I heard sniffles.

"Hi." She said to the boys as I introduced everyone.

"That's my boyfriend Taylor."

"He's cute." Making us giggle.

"And that's Essence boyfriend Cameron." My mom walked over and hugged him.

"Thank you." She said smiling. Just as we started talking and I started to feel better the doctor came in. My mother stood up and walked over.

"How is she ?"

"She still has a concussion and hasn't woken up yet. But she should wake up in about an hour. You guys can stay or go get something to eat and come back and I promise she will be awake."

From the corner of my eye I could see Cameron's grip on the chair tighten. I put my hand over his and he loosened the grip. I looked at his face and it was flushed. He didn't look up or say anything. He just stared at the ground. We all decided to go out for pizza and come back. As we were leaving he still didn't pick his head up.

"You ok man ?" The Jacks asked. Cam nodded his head but didn't look up once. We all squeezed into my moms van and Cam kept his head down. I looked at Taylor.

"Imma go sit by my mom ok ?" He nodded. I climbed through the space between the front and passenger seat and sat down.

"Mom ?" I could see tears falling from her eyes.

"I'm ok."

"No your not let me drive." She got out without saying a word and we switched seats.

"Where are we going to eat ?" I said looking back at everyone. No one answered. You could hear a fucking pin drop on the carpet of the van.

"No one wants to answer ? Fine we'll go to the pizza place around the corner." I started up the car and started driving. When we got to the red light I looked over at my mom. She was knocked out. I looked back at the boys. Tay looked up at me and gave a week smile before looking out the window. The Jacks were on their phones and Shawn was working on a new song. Aaron had his headphones in and was bobbing to his music. Nash was focused on whatever game he was playing. Hayes was nodding off to sleep. The only one who seemed to be deep in thought was Cam. He was still looking down with red puffy eyes. I had no idea what he was thinking about Essence but whatever it was ...it was clearly killing him.

HONK !!!!!

"Ok jeez shut up !" I yelled out the window. I looked up the see the light turned green. Oops. I started driving and kept thinking.

That Doctor better be right. My sister better be awake by the time we get back or I swear ...

Suddenly my head started pounding. And I mean like throbbing. I knew something was happening with Essence. She was thinking about something. Something important. I gripped the left side of my head and tried to keep driving. I couldn't take it. I pulled over to the side of the road and just sat there. Taylor grabbed my hand.
