Chaper 1 - Leaving and Meeting

"Ugh! Shut up!" Yachi yelled as she hit her alarm clock off the night stand. "Shit..." She cursed silently and she went over and grabbed her bat from the corner, raising it up and looking around the house for any signs of them.

She sighed, relieved and put her guard down, going to the window and looking outside threw the cracks in the wood planks blocking it.

"Today's my only chance. It's clear." She whispered as she bolted up the stairs to her room grabbing her bag - already packed -, a pocket knife and her other bat, heading back downstairs.

She took a deep breath and put her hand on the door knob, bat in hand. Yachi slowly pulled open the door, peaking outside checking if they were near.

"Seems clear." She thought and walked out cautiously.

Walking out into the empty street, hands unnoticeably shaking and adrenaline pumping through her body, she took a quick scan of her surroundings before walking towards another town.

After walking for ten hours, Yachi decided to take a break and rest. This was the first time she's been this far from her house since the apocalypse hit.

Crack!

Yachi stood up quickly, lifting her bat up, ready to knock out whoever or whatever was there.

"Woah woah woah! Put the bat down! I don't want any trouble." The person said, stepping out from the bushes slowly with their hands raised.

"Who are you?" Yachi said menacingly, pointing her bad at the mysterious person.

"I'm Shimizu Kiyoko from the Ophelia."

"The what?" Yachi asked, glaring at Kiyoko confused.

"The Ophelia. It's a group I came across when I was almost killed by the walkers ((The Walking Dead's term for Zombies is walker if you didn't know that)). We're only three people right now so... Would you like to join?" Kiyoko asked, obviously intimidated by Yachi's glare.

"Not until you explain what you were doing."

"Okay. Just lower you bat please." Kiyoko asked, looking at the bat.

Yachi lowered her bat and sat back down. Kiyoko sitting next to her.

"So Kiyoko. What were you doing?"

Kiyoko looked up at Yachi. "Well I thought you were asleep so I was going to wake you up or at least help you while you were out."

"Oh... Okay. How do I know if I can trust you then? You know.. If I were to go with you." Yachi said, putting an emphasis on if.

"If I try anything you can kill me or use me as bait for the walkers." Kiyoko said, looking the blonde directly in the eyes.

Yachi shook her head. "No. I won't do anything like that. I'll just trust you.. For now."

"So will you join the group?" Kiyoko said her eyes lighting up.

Yachi shook her head. "Not until I meet the other members."

Kiyoko nodded. "After you rest up we can start heading back to camp then." She said and sat down on guard. "You sleep. I promise I won't try anything."

Yachi looked at her cautiously before laying down and closing her eyes.
