Chapter 14 - Reveal and "Findings"

"No no no no no no no nonononononononononononono!!! You're kidding me?! Everything... Everything won't work out if it's acting like this!"

"Professor calm down! We can get it fixed and hopefully help them out once it's done. They did sign up for it."

"That is true, but it wasn't supposed to go this way! It was supposed to be perfect and now look at it!! What do you think they'll do to us once they wake up?! They'll probably kill us like they did to the others out there!!!"

I shook my assistant and screamed. I was for sure going mad.

-- Akaashi's POV --

He's gone... gone... if he's gone... doesn't that mean I'm gone too... or at least part of me is gone...? How'd it come to this anyway..? I'm pretty sure the world wasn't like this with walkers everywhere you went. In fact is this even real..? It doesn't feel real, but that could be because of the walkers. They seem fake, but this is reality, right?

I got up and looked at Bokuto's body being burned. I'm happy that I at least get to keep his ashes, but upset because he's no longer with me anymore. He's not with me at all. Why'd you have to leave me Kou..? Why..? I broke down into tears yet again and was comforted by Kiyoko. It was nice, but I felt useless.

"This can't be real... t-this can't... be... real.." I muttered, holding my head and crying on Kiyoko's shoulder.

"Sadly... it is.." She said softly, rubbing my back, trying to comfort me.

I wiped my tears and went a little closer to the fire, sniffling like crazy.

-- ????'s POV --

Was this really the end for her..? Or was it the start of her new life..? Would she remember me..?

I stood in the door way of the lab. The solution was finally finished, but we needed to see whether or not it would work. They strapped her up after taking her out of the case she was confined in and injected the solution inside of her. She was screaming her lungs out, saying it burned and stung as it was injected. After the injection was done being injected they stepped a few feet away from her and waited. "Was is going to work?" I shook my head looking down. There's no way this'll work.

I took steps closer to her, getting closer with every step. "Don't go any closer!" One of them yelled. I didn't listen and kept going closer.

"Mizu..? How are you feeling..? You'll live right..? Right..?" I whispered softly, trying not to cry.

"Yuu-chan..?" My eyes opened widely and I looked at Mizuki with shock and happiness.

"Mizuki!!" I said happily, hugging Mizu tightly, but not too tight. "How are you feeling..?"

"Weird... sore... like I died and then I was brought back to life." Mizu chuckled softly and laid back down after I let go of her. They cheered. They found a cure. Now they'll take her and watch her every move.

"Mizu," I whispered something in her ear and she nodded. "Glad you understand."

-- Mizuki's POV--

I'm.. alive!! And Yuu-chan's here! But where dad? And everyone else? I was going to ask Yuu this, but it didn't seem like the best option, so I kept quiet.

What he whispered to me next is surprising, yet true. I knew what was happening and that...

"Mizu! Let's get you fixed up!" I heard Yuu-chan say and slowly and also kind of painfully sat up as he grabbed some things and helped me in the clothes and wrapped up some wounds that were left from the really, unnecessarily thick, tubes that where inside of me.

-- Kunimi's POV --

"Is he okay..?" A voice said.

I opened my eyes, squinting at the light that hit them and sat up, only to feel a sharp pain in my leg and to feel very light headed.

"Hey hey take it easy..." a man with ginger hair said gently. "How are you feeling..?"

I looked over at him, then looked around, noticing other people around me and my leg patched up. We were, what seems to be, a small abandoned building, maybe convenient store of some sort.
