"oomph" is the first sound I hear coming out of my thoughts, and I realize it was from me because I ran into a pillar...........with deep green eyes and tousled thick brown hair, that is about 6'2 with a strong build. Crap. Of course my instincts kicked in and I..................................did absolutely nothing. I could stare at his eyes all day, which is if he never opened his mouth.
"I am so sorry!" I say in a rush.
"What are you doing out here? It is past 8:37 pm. A girl like you should not be out in these halls." He asked in his deep monotone voice. He gave me a cold glare; now that got me mad, he completely ignored my apology. It was technically his fault too!
"What am I doing?!? I could ask you the same thing! You think just because you are big and tall you can walk around wherever you want and glare at people because they do the same thing, huh?! Well let me tell you something Mr.! I have had a very long day and my patience is thin so if you will excuse me Green Eyes! And girls like me? Seriously? What do you even know about me? Huh?" I rant. He opens his mouth to respond but I quickly say,
"Rhetorical!" He gives me another glare and says,
"First things first, SHUT UP! Do you want to alert the entire school we are out here?!? Second off green eyes, really? How original, my friends call me Jude, but you on the other hand are going to call me by my full first name, Judas. You are certainly not my friend. Now get out of my way and don't talk to me!" He whisper yelled. As intimidating as he was, I could not help but giggle. Here is a red-faced, vain popping, guy looking as threatening as him, whispering? I laughed so hard I had tears. Then I saw a flash of red that stopped me from laughing dead in my tracks, Judas' bewildered look quickly became panic, so I knew he saw it too. He quickly grabbed my wrist and hauled me into a hole in the wall that I hadn't noticed.
"Be quiet." He whispered. I rolled my eyes at him while quietly murmuring,
"No duh, Sherlock." That earned me another glare. So I did what I was told for once.
"I think it is okay now." I said, well actually the close proximity was making me forget why I even came out here, and as soon as it came rushing back I bolted to my door. What I found on my door made me freeze solid in my tracks. What was on my door was a plain white piece of paper with a little symbol at the bottom, but I knew the contents were much more harmful then what it appears, because what was taped to my door was clue #1.
My palms were shaking and I could feel the beads of perspiration slowly building on my forehead. If someone saw me right then they would assume I just saw the mother ship of all spiders or something. That's how terrified I looked. My first 6 hours here have just been peachy! Meet a good looking guy who turns out to be a jerk, find out I was chosen to play their stupid game, and now they want me to start right now?!? I knew they had to be somewhat heartless to actually treat their participants so cruel, but on the first day?!? Ugh... But in the end my curiosity won out and I grabbed the clue with shaky hands. I quickly run through my door and close it as quietly as possible while still freaking out. It read:
"Sneaking out already, hmm? Any who, here is your first clue:
They're who you least expect."
HOW ON EARTH DID HE KNOW I WAS OUTSIDE OF THE ROOM???
So I now know it is more than one person, but whom? And no duh it is who I least expect! Isn't that the point of finding out?!? Usually I am not this biotchy, for a lack of better words, but man this really takes a toll on your life priorities!
Here is my suspect list:
- Mrs. Delwinger
- Headmaster
I can rule out the Headmaster once I get the last clue. They are the only two old enough whom I have met. I am off to a great start. It might not be the headmaster though, because how does he write the first nine clues and they write the last one? And if it is more than one person he could just have his partner write the last one, oh the possibilities...
If I actually want to figure this thing out, I have to do it with a clear mind so I have to sleep, but knowing they know where I sleep, I know I won't fall asleep easy.
