The brightness scared me. It was what I had tried to remember, light. The colour so blindingly beautiful. I could barely move, my body was frozen. My legs too thin. I was inspecting myself when I heard something loud; my eyes darted to the other side of the room. A woman I didn’t know had dropped a clipboard. Assuming she was a nurse, she was pretty, as she ran from the room to fetch a doctor instead of approaching me.

After that point, all hell broke loose. Doctors and nurses were buzzing around me, checking machines, taking my blood, putting me into a machine to check my brain and heart waves. But then, the moment I’d been waiting for… they called my family.
