Gerald (Kains dad) POV

Staring at Damien I listened as Kain ran through the forest towards home. Why didn't that boy ever listen? I thought to myself. Paying full attention to Damien again I shifted back and got dressed hoping to have a civil conversation. Growling Damien did the same. As we both looked back to eachother I noticed Serena standing slightly behind him.

"It's been a long time Serena." I commented with a nod. I watched her pale blue eyes flash with anger. "Clearly you haven't forgiven me yet. Your daughters beautiful by the way."

"Don't you dare!" She spat at me. "She is none of your concern. Keep yourself away from her, that includes your filthy son as well."

"Come on," I said quietly. "You know better than that. They will find a way to be together sooner or later. We can't keep them apart forever."

"Well you best try." Damien cut in, growling. "I catch him here one more time and I'll kill him myself."

"Whatever Damien have it your way, just remember she will be just as anxious to see him." I called over my shoulder as I got ready to shift and go home. Damn my son having to mate to that womans daughter. My leige wasn't going to like this.

Crystanya POV

Knock, knock, knock.

"Who is it?" I called in my harsh raspy voice. I had been crying since the incident outside. I tried not to think about him because it just caused me to break down all over again.

"It's me." My mothers voice came through the door.

"Go away. I'm not talking to you right now." I didn't want anything to do with my mother or Damien right now. I just wanted to be alone with my thoughts and pain.

"Open this door right now young lady." My mother called in a strict tone.

Ignoring her I grabbed my iPod out of my dresser and laid back down on my bed, putting in the headphones and blasting the music as high as I could. I picked the loudest rock band I had on it and closed my eyes trying to forget the whole world. I was concious of someone pounding on my door but continued to ignore everything. Suddenly my iPod was ripped out of my hands and I was left staring at my uncle Damien, aunt Marci, and my mother. Groaning I sat up and waited knowing they all had something to say to me.

"How dare you." My mother spat on me. "After everything I have done for you and sacrificed for you? This is how you treat me?"

"Give it up mom. I don't care you took my heart and crushed it." I said wiping the spit off my face. "Whats the big deal with me being with Kain anyways?"

At the mention of his name I felt a sharp stinging sensation in my chest, reminding me I had lost him. A second after that my moms open hand connected with my face. "You ungrateful little bitch!!" She screamed at me. "You will not speak his name at all anymore."

"Tough luck psycho." I told her glaring.

Damien nodded at Marci and she quickly wrapped her arms around my mother and drug her out of the room. I was close to tears but wouldn't allow any of them the satisfaction of seeing me break down. Glaring at my uncle I held my head up proud, almost daring him to treat me the same way. Surprising me he sat on my bed and sighed, bringing his head to his hands.

"I'm sorry Crys." He said without looking up. "I never thought this would happen."

"You lied to me my whole life and then force me away from my soul mate, and all you have to say is I'm sorry." I growled unwilling to feel sorry for him.

"It's for the best. Our packs can't co-exist honey." He said lifting his eyes with a pleading look.

"Then why him?" I asked sullenly. "Why did the gods pick him?"

I could see he had no answer. "Well I can't stay here. I'm leaving." I told him calmly.

"You don't have a choice. I'm sorry." I didn't understand what he meant until Derek, my cousin, came out from my closet holding something behind his back. Looking at my uncle I saw him crying. I felt a slight prick in my neck and spun around watching Derek pull the syringe away. Turning myself back to my uncle I heard him whisper something I could only guess was I'm sorry before I passed out.
