"I hope you guys are preparing for your assignment. Monday is only a few days away," Mr. Drake announces as he leaves the glass room.

I watch Leah pack her things quickly. "Hey, are we still on for later?" I ask her.

"Funny, I should ask you that," she laughs. "I told you I was sorry. Now, what time should I stop by the diner?" I ask her.

"Forget about the diner. I got the day off, so just pick me up after school. And try not to forget this time," she says and walks out of the class room.

I groan and grab my things. I couldn't win with her. Then again I didn't know why I wanted to these days.

"Hey Connor," a familiar voice stops me in the hallway.

"Amy," I press my lips in a thin line.

I walk towards the locker and she follows me. "So, you finally took my advice and broke up with Summer," she smiles.

"Yeah well, you're a little too late to come and ask for credits," I tell her shoving the rest of my books in the locker.

"That doesn't mean you can't thank me," she says scooting a bit closer. "Right. Not going to happen," I laugh.

"You used to be so much fun. Now you're just a lovesick moron," she rolls her eyes.

"Lovesick moron? Enlighten me Amy," I tell her slamming my locker shut.

"Buy me dinner and maybe I will," she winks. "Seriously? You want a date?"

"Who said anything about a date? It can just be two people who used to have sex catching up. Without the sex, of course," she says.

I study her face for a minute. From the corner of my eye I see Leah walking towards us. "You know what? Sure," I nod.

"Terrific. How about tonight?" She asks me.

"Hey Amy," Leah says.

"Leah," she nods.

"Not tonight. Tomorrow?"

"I can do tomorrow," she says. "Pick me up at 7," she says and scurries off.

I look at Leah who was busy with her phone. "Are you ready to go?"

She nods and begins walking behind me. We walk to my car and she takes a seat.

Soon we were on the road.

"Is Logan back yet?"

"Not until tomorrow morning," she says. I simply nod.

I park inside the garage and jump out of my car while Leah does the same.

She follows me inside. "Your parents aren't home?"

"Working. And Cassie's at a friends," I add. "Oh alright," she shrugs.

I put my bag on the counter and rummage through my fridge. "You hungry?"

"Not really," she says. I place two slices of pizza in front of her and watch her expression change. "Hungry now?" I chuckle. "Fine," she rolls her eyes and eats.

"So, about this project. What are we going to do?" I ask her.

"I have everything mapped out. I just need you to take care of a plant," she says.

"Plant?"

"Photosynthesis," she says softly. "I studied it for a few days at mine. You can do the latter part," she says.

"But, I forgot to get it to school today. So can I drop it off later?" She says.

"Sure. Do you want to get started on the report?" I ask her.
