I hung up.

I called my own stalker, confessed to liking my best friends girlfriend and hung up.

I'm a grade A douche.

I looked down at the phone. The screen was blank. I felt even weird after admitting my feelings out loud.

I fell back on my bed and sigh pressing eyes shut.

I throw the tenth stone in my hand at the glass window above me. I've been at this for ten minutes.

She wasn't even answering her phone.

"Come on," I mutter to myself.

I position my arm and aim for the window again as the the door slides up.

She puts her head out and looks down.

"Seriously Connor? It's the middle of the night," she grumbles.

"Thanks captain obvious," I chuckle.

"What's going on?"

"Let me in," I tell her.

She rolls her eyes and I walk to her front door. About two minutes later she slowly opens up. "Don't make any noises. My dad just got in a while back," she whispers.

She shuts the door carefully and we walk up to her room. She locks her door behind us.

"You weren't sleeping, were you?" I ask her looking at the mess of papers on the bed.

"I had one last report to finish," she sighs. "Which reminds me," she adds rummaging through her books.

"Here. This is the last time I do your assignments," she says.

"You finished this already? I gave it to you in the morning!"

"What are you doing here C?" She plops down on her bed.

"Right. So I wanted to talk to you. . . About Kate," I say.

"Oh," she says sounding disappointed. "What's wrong? Didn't you guys have a date tonight?" She asks me. "We did. It was — terrible," I admit.

"What? Why? Don't tell me you're losing your touch," she laughs.

"No. That's not it. We got into an argument –"

"About?"

"You."

She doesn't say a word. "She thinks we spend way too much time with each other. And that I'm way too protective of you. I try to tell her it's a brotherly feeling, but then I don't know anymore," I ramble.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that maybe Kate's right. And maybe I'm ready to admit —"

"Admit what?" She cute me off.

I scoot a bit closer to her and her eyes widen. "What are you doing?" She whispers.

"Sit still, will you?"

Before she could get another word out I pressed my lips on hers. She was tense, but calmed down after a moment and kissed me back. My hands caress her cheek while her palm is places on my chest.

A minute later she started to pull away.

"What's wrong?"

"We kissed. You kissed me — we never do that Connor. Although you know I've dreamt about this forever –"
