"Did you get the ice?"

"It's in the kitchen."

"The speakers?"

"In the living room."

"The cu —"

"Jeez, calm down Connor," Cassie rolls her eyes. "What! I just want everything to be perfect," I tell her.

"Since when do you care so much about the cups and the ice anyway? I'm the one that always takes care of that stuff," Cassie complaints.

"It's not like that — I just want her to have a good time you know? She deserves it," I tell her sheepishly.

"I still can't believe you're throwing Leah a party. Who knew you were such a softy on the inside," she teases.

"Shut up," I flick her head. "And for the record only you and I know this party's for her. For the rest of the school it's just another stressbuster," I tell her.

"Of course," she sighs. "Is the rest of your group coming?"

"Yeah, I guess. Grayson and Anna said they'd be here. I even invited Summer and Mike," I say.

"And Logan?"

"I guess he'll come too," I say not looking in her the eye.

"You invited him, didn't you? Please tell me you invited him," she asks me.

"I did," I nod.

"Please be careful Connor. The day he finds out he's going to flip on you," she sighs.

"I already know. You and Amy keep saying this every time," I roll my eyes.

"Wait — Amy? As in Amy Bradley? She knows?"

"Well — yeah."

"I didn't know you guys were all buddy buddy. Leaving the sex out," she says.

"Ugh, don't say things like that in front of me. It's creepy," I scrunch my nose.

"It is not," She rolls her eyes. "And how did Amy find out, anyway?"

"She caught up to me. Confronted me about it, and I wasn't very good at hiding my feelings for Leah," I tell her.

"You know — I haven't seen you like this since you graduated sophomore year," Cassie says reminding of her.

I simply smile. "You have to admit though Connor, even though you were the one to end it you were getting restless," she says.

"Yeah — well, it doesn't matter now."

"Just be careful okay? I know Leah and you have been hanging out a lot over the past weeks," Cassie says.

"Yeah. I think she's finally forgiven me for all the insults. I think she trusts me. She talks to me," I tell her.

"Don't play with her trust then. I know things are not great with her and Logan but that doesn't mean you act like a hero and do something totally stupid like kissing her when she least expects it," Cassie warns me.

"Okay mom," I roll my eyes.

"We'll call when your orders ready," the waitress tells me and I nod. I take a seat on the bar stool and fidget with my phone while I waited.

The party was set for tonight. But there was only one thing I still had to do.

Invite Leah.
