A Little Date

This is a CaAppy [Carla x Happy] oneshot requested by kat_named_lynn. I hope you enjoy!!
P. S. There's a little bit of NaLu. XD

"Natsu!" Mirajane called. "Are you ready?!"

"Do I really gotta go lookin' so fancy?" Natsu called from behind the dressing screen.

"Natsu, it's a fancy restaurant! Of course you have to wear the proper attire!" Mirajane giggled.

He groaned. "This thing is way too freakin' tight! You're tellin' me I gotta wear it for three hours?"

Mirajane smiled cheerfully. "If a girl's beauty comes at a cost, then it only makes sense that a boy's handsomeness should, too! Well, sometimes, at least!"

(is handsomeness a word I don't even know anymore)

Natsu sighed and stepped out from behind the screen, dressed up in a tuxedo.

((I can see my friends fainting at this mental image I feel so bad for laughing))

"You look great! Lucy- erm, everyone is going to love this!" Mirajane complimented.

"Remind me why it's just Lucy, Happy, Carla, and me when it could be a team dinner?" Natsu scratched his head.

Mirajane sighed and shook her head. "You'll see in time, Natsu, you'll see in time."

Natsu still seemed confused. Mirajane resisted the urge to facepalm and pushed him out of the room. "Now go and knock her dead!" She cheered. Before the dragon slayer could ask what she meant, Mirajane smiled, waved, and shut the door in his face.

She leaned back against the door and stretched her arms out. "I wonder if he'll ever learn."

"I don't get it, little buddy," Natsu said to Happy as they walked - or flew - to their destination. "Why do we gotta be all dressed up?"

"Relax, Natsu," the blue exceed replied. Happy was in a little tuxedo of his own. "I'm sure they got the girls all dolled up, too!"

"I sure hope so," Natsu grumbled. "Otherwise that's just unfair."

"But, I mean, the ladies probably wanted to get all fancy the moment they heard they'll be goin' to a fancy restaurant," Happy wondered aloud.

"Huh... you could be right about that!" Natsu agreed.

Not too long after their little talk, the boys reached the place they were supposed to meet Lucy and Carla at. When they walked in, Natsu and Happy immediately noticed the girls' dress up.

Lucy was wearing an elegant pink gown with pearl earrings, and her blond hair was pinned up in a beautiful bun. Carla wore her own pink dress that was a lighter shade than Lucy's. The boys' mouths fell open.

Lucy noticed them at one point and smiled, waving them over. "Guys, we've been waiting for you! Whe- um, what are you looking at?"

The guys shook their heads to free themselves of their sudden daze.

Happy rushed over to the table and gave Carla the heart eyes.

((Heart Eyes Happy amirite-- okay bad Dan Howell pun kill me now))

"Wow, Carla, you look beautiful~!" He gushed.

Carla only scoffed and looked away with her paws on her hips, hiding the slight blush on her face. Then she looked back over at him. "You don't look very bad yourself, Tomcat!"

Happy nearly fell over.

Lucy giggled.

"Wow, Luce, you look great!" Natsu grinned at her as he took a seat.

The blond smiled at him with a light tint of pink on her cheeks. "Thanks, Natsu! You look pretty handsome yourself!"

Natsu felt his heart start beating a little bit faster. Is this that time for me to see what Mira wanted me to? He wondered.

Then a waitress came over and asked, "Hello, ladies and gentlemen! My name's Tia and I'll be serving you tonight. May I take your order?"

Natsu grinned. "Aw, yeah! I'll take one of everything!"

Everyone at the table, including Tia, sweatdropped.

Lucy shrieked as she and Natsu got thrown out of the building.

"Some fancy restaurant!" She exclaimed. "They literally threw us out!"

Then Lucy realised she had landed right on top of Natsu. She blushed but quickly came back to her senses when she heard Carla's "Oof!"

"Ow... I think I can see all the little fishies swimming..." Happy said from nearby. Carla shook her head.

"One of everything, Natsu? Really?" Lucy glared down at him.

He grinned and shrugged.

"Honestly," Carla said, "I don't understand how the two of you have such a big appetite."

"You and me both," Lucy agreed. "It's like they're never full!"
Carla nodded and hummed an Mhm.

"Uh, Lucy? Not to make this awkward, but... you're still on top of me." Natsu smiled up at her nervously.

"O-oh! Right!" Lucy's face flushed red. She rolled off of Natsu and helped him up just as Happy helped Carla up.

"Though we did get thrown out quite rudely at the end," Carla started, "I did enjoy the time we had there."

"Really?!" Happy grinned at her.

"Yes, really." Carla smiled at him.

They all shared a joyful moment and walked off, paw in paw, hand in hand.
