Late Night Visitor

JeRza one-shot, as requested by @Heartofarmor. Hope you enjoy!!

Erza sighed as she took the ribbon out of her hair, letting her long red locks fall over her shoulders and onto her back. She pulled off her heels and re-equipped into her pajamas.

She sat on the bed and kicked her feet back and forth, as they were sore from her having to wear those tight heels nearly all day long.

The redhead lay down and turned her lamp off, sighing and looking up at the ceiling.

The whole day had been wild and fun, but there was just one name that ran through her head during that time.

Jellal.

The man she had come to love.

Erza almost chuckled at what he had said to her on that one day.

"A fiancée, huh? Is that really the best excuse you could make up, you idiot?" She smiled and shook her head, closing her eyes.

Almost immediately, they opened up again.

Erza jolted up.

I feel someone's presence, she thought alarmingly.

As if on cue, an all too familiar voice said, "Ouch..."

Erza re-equipped into her Heart Kreuz armor. She peeked over the bed, and almost laughed in delight.

There was Jellal Fernandes, sitting up and dusting his clothes off. When he looked up and saw Erza staring at him, he almost shouted in surprise, but the redhead reached out and covered his mouth with the flat of her sword, careful not to hurt him with the blade.

She and Jellal took deep breaths, and Erza slowly took the sword away from his mouth, sighing in relief.

"What are you doing here?!" Her soft tone was a mixture of alarm and happiness. "If the girls catch you here, you'll go flying out the window, Jellal!"

"At least I'll be going back the way I came," Jellal smirked at her.

Erza chuckled.

"Anyways," Jellal started, "I'll answer your first question. In my opinion, it should be quite obvious that I came to see you."

Erza raised an eyebrow. "At this hour, Jellal?"

He shrugged, "It's the only time Meredy is asleep."

"W-"

A knock at the door interrupted Erza, and her eyes widened in panic, as well as Jellal's.

Erza grabbed him and threw him onto the bed, also throwing her blanket over him.

"Come in!" The redheaded girl said quickly.

The door opened slowly, and Juvia and Evergreen poked their heads in.

"Erza, is everything alright?" Juvia asked worriedly. The pretty water mage was in her blue silk nightgown, her eyes showing a bit of sleepiness.

"Oh, yes, everything's just fine," Erza said casually.

"Are you sure? I thought I heard you talking to someone," Evergreen said. Her long brown hair was all swept over one shoulder.

"Believe me, everything's alright," Erza smiled.

"If you say so," Evergreen shrugged.

"Let Juvia and Evergreen know if we have to do anything," Juvia said, smiling at the re-equip mage.

Evergreen nodded her agreement, and Erza promised them she would. Her friends shut her door and Erza waited until she heard the faint sound of their doors closing.

She lifted the blanket off of Jellal, whose azure hair was now even more ruffled, making him all the more attractive in her eyes.

Jellal blinked a few times, and Erza laughed. "The coast is clear now, Jellal, don't worry," she assured him.

"Now, as I was going to say," Erza began, "Why now? What could possibly be so important that you came to see me this late into the night?"

"Well, I had something of utmost importance that I needed to tell you," Jellal replied.

Erza noticed the slight pink on his cheeks and that caused her to blush a little as well.

"Like?" She asked, smiling.

"Well, I know you've figured out that whole commotion about the having a fiancée already was all just an excuse," he said.

"Go on," Erza urged.

"I was just wondering," Jellal stood up and walked around the bed, standing in front of her, "What if that statement were true?"

"What... what do you mean?" Erza looked up at him, her stomach filling up with butterflies.

Jellal backed up a little and knelt down, pulling out a small red velvet box.

He opened the box to reveal a beautiful ruby ring, and Erza gasped.

"Erza Scarlet, would you make me feel like the luckiest man alive, and marry me?" Jellal smiled up at her.

Erza had tears in her eyes, and all she could do was nod.

Jellal slipped the ring onto her finger, and stood up once again, pulling Erza up with him. He kissed her passionately, and she returned.

Moments later, after they were done enjoying each other's embrace, Jellal sighed and smiled, pulling away, yet still holding Erza's hands.

"It's getting especially late now," he said. "I should go before Meredy notices anything."

Erza smiled back and nodded, letting his hands slip out of hers.

She chuckled as she watched him leap through the window, and sighed happily, holding the hand with her ring up and her smile grew slightly.

This was a big step for her, but she wouldn't have agreed if she weren't ready. That was Erza Scarlet.

Erm... our to-be Mrs. Fernandes.
