Chapter 3

-Kaylie's Point of View-

I quietly shut the door behind me as I entered the house. Mum was asleep on the couch again with the TV on. I sighed and shook my head, walking over and covering her with the duvet she had by her sleep seeing as how it was like twelve degrees in the house. I turned off the TV as well before I quietly and quickly made my way up the stairs towards my room.

I shrugged off my jumper once in the safety of my room and I walked over, closing the open window because it was incredibly cold in my room. I glanced over at the bed side table and found that it was empty. So, since we've officially met, he's done with the notes? That's cool with me. Yay.

I took a look at my messy room. My clothes were strewn all over the floor and a part of me want to just go round and clean it all up, deciding what was clean and what wasn't. But then there was that part of me telling me I could do it sometime later and just decided what was clean when I needed clothes to where.

That part was very convincing and I ended up giving into it and walking towards my bathroom, practically stripping my clothes off as I did so... okay, I had only somehow gotten my shoes, socks and shirt off. I was just standing in my bathroom wearing my trousers and bra.

I leaned over, turning the knobs to get the water to spray out of the shower head. It was immediately hot as hell and I burned my hand in the process of trying to balance out the hot and cold water to get it to right temperature. After a string of violent profanities through my pain, I had finally gotten it to the right temperature and I took off the rest of my clothes.

I leaned my head back under the spray of the water, soaking my black hair in the perfect warm water. I stood under the water, thinking about earlier. He grabbed my hand and wiped away my tears. No one has ever done that besides Collin and Mum... but that was their job to comfort me, it wasn't Andy's. I barely knew the guy and he barely knew me. I was actually looking forward to seeing him.

After another twenty minutes in the shower of thinking about Andy and irrelevant things like having to go to work tomorrow, I actually got around to washing my body and hair. I wrapped a towel around my body after turning off the water and stepping out. The towel was black, fluffy and unbelievably warm. I had a red one like this.

I stepped into my room, letting the towel drop from my body before grabbing it and wrapping it around my wet hair whilst walking to my closet. I grabbed a pair of black pants and slipped them on, debating whether I should put on the pyjama bottoms and a bra and just going to bed like this.

I decided just to put on a bra and dried my curly wet hair before slipping under my duvet. I held the thick fabric closer to me as I began to shake at the sudden cold. My window was closed, why was it cold in here? I groaned and threw the duvet off, getting out of bed and quickly going down stairs. Mum must have gotten up and opened the window in the kitchen. It gets quite hot downstairs.

When I got down there, sure enough, the window was open. I closed it and walked out into the living room, Mum laying down in a different position on the couch, but still sprawled out. I chuckled a bit before walking over, gently shaking her until she groaned in response.

"Mum, c'mon, get up. Go to sleep in your room, you're going to be restless all night down here," I whispered gently, grabbing her hand as she got up and stumbled towards the stairs. I ran to her when she nearly fell down the stairs.

I helped her up the stairs and into her room before making my way back downstairs to make sure everything was locked. I locked the kitchen window and back door. Just as I was making sure the sliding glass door was locked on the side, there was a few hard knocks on the front door. I glanced over at the kitchen clock and frowned. It was half eleven-why would someone be knocking at our door at this late hour.
