CHAPTER 9

“I need to get my schedule, will you come?” Val asked and I nodded.

He took my hand and we walked to the main office. People were glancing in our direction and as always it was unnerving as hell.

I felt His grip tightened on my hand as he gave me a small encouraging smile which said,

‘Don’t worry, I’m with you.’ I nodded and went inside the office.

“Valentino Martinez.” He introduced himself, his Spanish accent dripping like honey when he said that, and the lady behind the desk gave him his schedule while eyeing him curiously.

Val rolled his eyes as I checked his schedule.

We had same classes except chemistry. I smiled widely at him and he just gave my shoulder a slight hug.

“Your smile is telling me that I have to tolerate you for whole day. Oh god! Save me” He said dramatically and I slapped his hand.

“OH look, somebody made a friend.” I heard a sickly sweet voice behind me and I stiffened knowing who it was.

I turned around and found Cassie and Shawn were smiling smugly at me.

“Oh! Valentino! What a surprise!” Cassie gave him a flirty smile.

“Trouble. Time to run.” Val mumbled and it took everything in me not to crack a smile.

“Hello there!” he replied. Cassie glared at me when she noticed Val’s hand was around my shoulder,

“What are you doing with this bitch?” she spat.

“Now now, let’s get this straight. She is my friend and if I see you harassing her trust me, I will make everyone pay. And you have your sick boyfriend with you so have fun with him and don’t interfere in our life.” Val glared back at her.

My eyes widened when he called Tyler ‘sick boyfriend’.

“You are ditching me for her?” Tyler came forward and crossed his hands on his chest.

“Yes because I don’t want to be friends with assholes.” And with this Val turned around and we walked towards our class leaving all of them stunned.

After leaving safe distance I turned towards him,

“What was that?”

“Part of our plan! You know I had a good opportunity to smack Tyler. It would have been so much fun.” He said cheekily.

“He would have killed you for that.”

“I would have killed him too.” He wiggled his eyebrows and we entered the class.

I shook my head not understanding whatever they were planning.

I knew they had some wicked theories and planning behind their actions as they were acting like arch enemies which were total opposite of what they shared with each other.

I sighed heavily and shook my head mentally to clear all those thoughts.

“Don’t stress yourself, sweet pea! We have got everything covered. You just have to relax and enjoy the show.” Val winked at me and I had a sudden urge to roll my eyes.

As soon as bell rang, students entered including Tyler.

Cassie was behind him like his tail and she smirked at me. Ty took his seat in front of class and turned back giving us a small glance.

Val gave him death glare to which he raised his eyebrow. Suddenly he understood that Cassie and crew were watching their exchange, Ty returned the glare.

I put a hand on Val’s hand and he turned towards me,

“Isn’t that too much?” I whispered.

“No, Kitkat, trust me!” he smiled and gave a small squeeze to my hand. I gave a small nod and returned my attention to my book.
