Madelyn's POV
I slowly sit up in bed shutting my alarm off with my finger tips, the buzzes filling the room stopped. I groan happy that it stopped, I stand my feet hitting the cold wood floors. I only had twenty minutes to get ready for the hearing. I grabbed a tight navy blue skirt and a gray blouse throwing them on after removing Dally's t-shirt that I loved to sleep in. I look at myself in the mirror my brown wavy hair a mess and my hazel eyes looked less livley than usual. I groan throwing my hair into a braided bun and put On some makeup so I didn't look so dead. As I left the house I grabbed a pair of gray flats, just as I was about to step out the door I run back to the bathroom disposing of the contents in my stomach.
Hot tears ran down my cheeks as I flush the toilet and wipe my mouth. I grab my purse again and head out the door hoping it didn't happen again. Luckily it didn't,
It's gonna be fine
I thought trying to convince myself things were gonna be okay. I get out letting myself into courthouse when I walked in there like four people, me, Johnny who I had asked to go with me and two people from the newspaper. I sat next to Johnny.
"Hey, how you doing?" He asks giving me a friendly hug.
"Fine." I lie as I notice Dallas was walking with two guards behind him, he too ma seat at one side of the courtroom and who I was guessing the guy he had hit was on the other side.
The judge walked in sitting at the top of the podium.
After being introduced to both sides the judge had asked for both sides of the stories.
The guy who he had hit who's name was Jeremy had started.
"I'm sitting at the bar minding my own business when this clearly drunk guy who I didn't recognize hit me square in the mouth." He starts his story, Dallas rolls his eyes obvious irritated. "So I go to hit back but he grabbed my arms throwing me on the floor, I wasn't able to hit back and he knocked me out end of story."
"Dallas," the judge asks looking over to him.
"I accidentally bumped the guy and hits me so I hit back and just happened to win." Dallas defends.
"Then why was he in the hospital until a few days ago?"
"Because I just happened to win." Dallas repeats.
After a half hour of arguing between the three the judge made his call.
"Dallas Wisnton, I sentence you to 10 months, and Jeremy Henry, I sentence you to 6 months." He says slamming his mallet onto the table and leaves.
"What?! Are you fucking with me?!" Dallas shouts echoing in the courtroom.
"Shit," I whisper wanting to cry. When he was escorted out he looks over to me apologizing with his eyes.
Johnny sighs heavily. "Come on." He says taking my arm gently and leading me out as my vision got blurry with tears. As soon as we stepped out he took me. "Maddie, it's alright, 10 months'll fly by." He comforts. I shake my head, he didn't know that I was pregnant, he would miss the birth, he would miss the first month of their life. When Jeremy was escorted out I couldn't help but yell.
"You asshole! This is your fault! That's not what happened!" I yell at home. Johnny holds my arm as I start for him.
"It's not worth it Maddie!" He says standing in front of me. I start to cry harder.
"Damnit!" I cry. "Let's go see him." I say wiping tears and we walked over to the jail, now that he was sentence I could actually touch him and hug him. He was brought to the visiting area after he as called out and I was checked for weapons. As soon as I saw him I started crying again. He runs over to me hugging me tight.
"It's alright baby, I'm coming home." He comforts rubbing my back and kissing my cheek. "It's okay doll." He says again even though I knew he was close to tears. "Everything is gonna be fine." He consoles again.
I nod hoping he was right. I needed to tell him but I didn't want to, I really didn't want to, so I didn't. I didn't tell him. When he finally lets me go he gives Johnnycakes a hug.
"Thanks man." Dallas says.
"Of course." Johnny chuckles.
"No, I mean it." Dallas nods. Johnny's smile fades and he nods.
"Come on Dallas!" A guard shouts. I reach for him again and give him a tight hug.
"Don't go sleeping with another guy." He chuckles trying to lighting the mood. You can't help but smile, Dallas could always find a way to make you smile. You nod as heads back for the door where a guard was waiting for him.

As soon as I pulled in the driveway I put my head to the steering wheel and cried.
"Damnit Dallas." I whisper hitting my hand on the wheel. "Damnit! Damnit!" I repeat with tears rushing down my cheeks. I wipe my eyes and head inside where I laid down in bed after removing everything and wrapped in one of Dallas's favorite t-shirts. I climb under the covers and reach for his pillow cuddling with it because right now it's one of the only things that still smelled like him. I cuddle it holding it close to my body as i cried for comfort before finally falling asleep after seeing it was four in the morning.
