Madelyn's POV
My eyes flutter open, everything was silent which wasn't surprising I was sure the boys went to either work or school, I stand up noticing it was 1:12 in the afternoon.
"I needed that." I whisper stretching my arms and realizing my clothes from last night were folded on the dresser. They must have washed them this morning because they smelled fresh. I change into the now dry jeans and and white blouse. I leave my pajamas I borrowed on the bed. Tossing the covers up over the pillows I leave the room leaving the door slightly ajar. The entire house was empty, I go to the kitchen taking a cup of coffee and threw sone sausage patties in a frying pan.
I had another job interview today at a bakery. I flip the sausage around with a spatula as I sipped from my coffee. When they were finished I went to sit down when the door bust open revealing Two-Bit, Johnny, and Steve. I jump a little dropping the coffee a few inches from the table.
"Shit." I whisper grabbing paper towels and cleaning it up. "Thanks guys." I roll my eyes playfully.
"Clumsy much?" Two teases grabbing a piece of chocolate cake and Steve followed. Johnny just plopped himself on the couch hands in his pockets.
"Shut up." You chuckle hitting his chest a little.
"So, uh, Madelyn," Johnny starts.
"What's up?" I ask sitting and taking piece of sausage in my mouth.
"Well, we were talking to Soda and, I can't help but ask-" Johnny asks not really knowing what to say.
"We wanted to know if you were actually pregnant," Steve says Rollin his eyes.
"Yeah." Johnny sighs standing to sit across the table from you.
You fake a deep breath wiping off your hands.
"Honestly, yes, I'm pregnant." I announce.
"Okay, so if it's a boy, totally name him Two-Bit, or Keith, whichever works." Two teases you. You out a hand in your still flat stomach.
"Yeah," you chuckle sippin from your coffee.
"Why not Steve?" Steve asks sitting at the table with you three.
"Because you're an asshole." Two laughs pushing him a little. Steve rolls his eyes.
"Uh, I gotta go, I got a job interview." I say standing and heading for the door.
"I thought oh didn't have a car?" Two asks before you could turn the knob.
"I don't." I reply opening the front door.
"Let me take you!" He calls standing up.
"Sure." I smile as he leads the way to his car.
"Where am I going?" He asks pullin out.
"The bakery in town." I reply slipping in my seatbelt.
"Alrighty."
A few minutes later you found yourself just in time for the interview and in the drive way.
"I'll wait." He pulls out a smoke getting out and leaning on the door. I nod heading in.
A tall man with dark blonde hair, and hazel eyes, was at the counter. I walk up and the closer I got, I realized he had a toothpick between his teeth as he filled the display case.
"Hi." He smiles his teeth almost shining in the light,no way he's a greaser.
"Hi, I'm Madelyn,  I'm here for an interview."
"Yeah,"
"I looking for a Charlie, I talked with him on the phone."
"That'd be me." He smiles standing up straight allowing me to see him wearing a yellow t-shirt that read "Tulsa Bakery, Sweets and more" on it and in the corner I realized his shirt read "Charlie." Followed by a smiley face.
"Hi."
"Uhh, so, your names Madelyn, do you have any experience?"
"Working? Yeah I worked as a teen but I've been searching for a while."
"Alright, what's your last name?"
"James, uh Madelyn James."
"Welcome aboard Madelyn James." He smiles harder shaking my hand.
"Really?"
"Yeah, we don't have high standards, come back Wednesday, we're closed on Tuesdays." He smirks.
"I'll be here." I say turning around to leave the empty bakery. Two was leaning on the door a cancer stick between his teeth.
"How'd it go?"
"I got the job." I exclaim.
"Already?" I smiles giving me a hug.
"I was just as surprised as you were, i don't know he kinda checked me out," I say looking back at the door.
"Don't tell Dallas bout that."
"I know." I say getting in the car.
"I gotta go see him, he said to visit hi' today."
"Got it, let's a go!" He says making a turn to the jail where again he waited for me by leaning on the hood of the car.
As usual they did the same checked me for weapons and let me in. Luckily today was a day I got to see him with no glass. He walks into the visiting room the cops removing his cuffs. I'm let in, I can't help but smile giving him a hug hello.
"You need to explain." He says sitting at one of the tables with me.
"There's nothing to explain, I got pregnant and wanted to wait until after the hearing to say anything, but I go too scared, I'm sorryC I should have said something, but I didn't." I say playing with my engagement ring not looking at him. He takes my chin in his fingers.
"Babe, what's wrong?"
"I don't know, I'm freaked out."
"Don't be, we're doing this together."
"Don't say we're doing this together, you're in jail for gods sake." I say wiping away a tear. He takes a heavy sigh.
"I'm so sorry, I can't say that enough, but I can do anything now, I'll always be here though doll." He kneels in front of me. I nod letting him wipe another tears with his thumb. "Don't cry, we're gonna be fine." He chuckles. I bid again.
"I do have good news though." I smile.
"What?"
"I got a job,"
"Where?"
"The bakery, somehow." I smile.
"That's great."
"I know," I say forcing a smile through the rest of the visit until I was out with Two to take me back to the Curtis home again.
