Mickey waited in his seat impatiently. Soon she would arrive. The gorgeous girl he had been dating for the last few months. She was spunky and funny, and everything else he had ever wanted in a girl. He thought she might be the one.
He had had a bit of competition for a while. But he had managed to win her over in the end. No one could take her from him. Ever.
He still remembered the day they had met. She had blown him away. The determination in her expression, the way her eyes had caught his and she had smiled. Almost flirtatiously.
No one he had ever been with, not even Rose, could measure up to her. He had never met anyone that could turn him on like she could.
And now he sat, waiting for her to appear. He had the perfect day planned for them. A day at the fair, then a romantic dinner with a beautiful view of the city.
And there she was, standing there, stunning as ever. She smiled and came over to him. Standing, he held out his arms for a hug, and she returned it, but turned her face away when he tried to kiss her.
He looked at her curiously, and opened his mouth to ask her why she had. She cut him off.
"I'm sorry Mickey. But I can't do this anymore. I'm getting back together with Rory ."
And with that, she turned and walked away, red hair blowing in the wind.
He stood there, shocked. His heart broken by the woman he loved most in the world.
