Just... Sleep

Alex's POV

Josh:"What are we going to do?"

Alex:"Put up a fight. I'm going to amplify your mind as much as I can without passing out. I don't care if I do. But I'm going to hit you to make it seem like an actual fight. They can't do anything with the mind. I'm sorry."

Lachlan:"You promise you wouldn't hurt him."

Alex:"Josh I need to keep up appearances. I'm sorry."

I kept fighting back tears the entire time. I ran up to him and punched him in the stomach. I didn't mean to hit him so hard.I felt awful.

Alex:"I'm so sorry."

Josh:"This better be worth it."

I reached out to him slowly. Before he pushed my arm away and stood up. Kicking me in the stomach. Causing me to lurch backwards to stop myself from falling over. I know what's happening.I know this is going to happen. I deserved this. I connected with his mind. He knew it the moment I did as he dropped to his knees.

Alex:"How can you grab two people at once?"

Josh:"Everyone has a thread attached to them. Each person in the room.It's like a massive fraying knot. All intertwining with each other."

Alex:"Grab every single one of them."

Josh:"What?"

Lachlan:"Alex you didn't tell me this."

Alex:"Every. Single. One. Now!"

Whilst connected to him. I could tell he was putting himself under immense pressure. He reached out. Though I knew he wouldn't be able to grab every single thread in the room. He tried though. I think he grabbed about 29 students. Though no one else from home.

Alex:"Lachlan get out."

Lachlan:"I'm not leaving."

Alex:"I will kick you out myself you don't want to be apart of this."

I heard two people start to scream. Another was sobbing.And one final student was just mentally screaming. It was so loud. Lachlan finally left the mind. I looked up at Josh to see him on his knees.

Alex:"Josh you know I love you as a friend. You have done nothing but help me here. And I trust you with my life. I need you to give me one chance. I promised you I would protect you. I won't let you get hurt ok?"

Josh:"Ok."

People were screaming all around us. It sounded like he and I were stuck in a never ending hall way. Voices could be heard from all around us. Whether they were in the walls or coming from further down. He looked up at me and I smiled at him. He was in tears.

Alex:"Do you remember when we broke into Preston's mind?"

I heard each of the now 28 students we held onto gasp and start to scream wildly. The sound was audible through out the stage and the stands.

Bryne: "What is going on?"

Alex:"Destroy the threads."

Josh:"What?"

Alex:"Break them. Picture them being on a thin line. A quick tug will break them. They will collapse and pass out. All of them. Please."

Josh:"Ok."

I had to keep my own energy up. The entire time he had to do the work. I just had to keep supplying him with the help he needed. But you knew when he did it. Every single thread was pulled towards him at once. The only one that didn't break was my own. But that was due to me being the one feeding him the power he needed. Ashe pulled on the threads. I looked around seeing students start to collapse on their friends. Or fall forward and hurt themselves but I didn't care. The sounds of anguish and crying friends were heard through out the room.
